LOL, funny, but yes DawgPhan is right. It’s called “Re-targeting” in the advertising world. Just as an example, I was looking at a new pair of tennis shoes on Zappos.com last Friday. Now everywhere I go on the interwebs, including the right hand side of the page as I type this, I see Zappos ads. But nobody else is likely to see that ad unless they too have recently been to that site. So yes, often times the ads you see are because of a prior site you have visited.
