Really, David Paschall deserves some sort of mention for the… um, restrained way in which he describes the Hindenburg-like performance of last year’s Georgia defensive backfield here:

He is directionally correct in that they often knew what the play was only after the opponent had snapped the ball … Many teachable moments were realized as they watched the video replay after the resulting touchdown.

LOL. I’d say that is bordering on disinformation. Certainly misinformation, as while not false, it doesn’t come close to describing the disaster our secondary was.
He’s just laying the homer on thick, which they all do at times. Paschall does a nice job.

David is an AU grad. Also, the best beat writer we have. I think he is very balanced in his reporting, don’t think he is anywhere near a “homer”. Now if you want to see homers, read the TFP on UT subjects. Of course, Vol fans don’t want the truth…evah. They are the most myopic fan base in the South, a significant number of them only watch TN football, not CFB or SEC football. Many turn the TV off when the TN game goes off, and I have seen several bar where all the TVs are on that one game. Very weird.

Maybe “homer” was the wrong word. Maybe “softballing” is better. Most of the best writers softball things instead of telling the reality. And I can understand why.
I agree Paschall is good, and Tennessee fans are myopic, though I’m not sure they’re any worse in that regard than Bama or Auburn’s.
