He did a spectacular job at UGA. He grew the endowment massively and presided over getting rid of Vince “Program Cancer” Dooley.

I don’t know where you get the “grew the endowment massively” from. Georgia’s endowment is puny compared with universities it considers its peers.

He got Georgia back on track. From memory, I believe he tripled it in his first 12 years.
