I know I risk sounding obsessed, but five months ago how many of you would have expected to see this picture from the first day of spring practice?
Hell, forget five months ago… how about a week ago?
I would have loved to have seen the coaches’ reaction when Chubb said he was ready to practice yesterday.
The pessimist in me wants to doubt he’ll be ready by the opener, but at this point, I wouldn’t put money on it. Just amazing.

He is an extraordinary young man, no doubt about it. With his work ethic and weight room discipline, I will be surprised if he is NOT ready to go by fall practice.

CKS said at the pre-practice presser definitively that Chubb would NOT participate in ANY drills during spring practice. Later that same day, Chubb is participating in the FIRST DAY of spring practice. CKS has totally lost control of Nick Chubb. Dude is a beast.
Opening day is over 5 months away. Barring a set back, Nick will take the first hand off vs. UNC IMHO. Wouldn’t it be nice to cobble together a legit defense and a passing game in 2016? This kid deserves to be part of a run in what will likely be his last season at UGA. No time for rebuilding. We need to go get Nick some hardware. No time like the present.

Whoa! Chubb practiced?! There’s no doubt he’s my favorite current Bulldog, but he’s got a real chance to leave Georgia as my favorite Dawg of all time (I don’t really include the greats like Herschel who played well before my time at Georgia… I was born in ’80).
I mean… he shredded his knee in October. And he has so much desire and drive that he was taking handoffs on the first day of spring drills. Forget the rest of the Dawg Porn. A picture of Nick Chubb taking a handoff in spring drills is going to get me through to the Georgia Dome just fine.

I love the committment and work ethic, but I really hope the staff isn’t letting him do too much. Chubb is a great back, but he’s still subject to the same laws of nature the rest of us are.

He is blessed with the body and the mind to overcome this setback. Nature may put the ultimate ceiling on it but Chubb will hit the ceiling as hard as he hits a defender.

Agreed. Have to trust #27 to know his body. Have to trust the medical/training staff to know their crap. Have to trust the coaching staff not to be penny wise, pound foolish.
But Nick is a freak.

On a related issue, Turman has just left the program. A thin backfield just got thinner.

Well, there goes another 100 yard game for Turman at G-day. Not sure he got a fair shot at playing time, but I wish him the best.
So we’ll have Chubb, Michel, Douglas, Crowder and Holyfield at RB this season. That’s not so bad.
