If you’re Georgia, this is what hope looks like.
This is reality.
Maybe we should just call every season a throwaway year until he retires.

In Nick Saban's 1st season at Alabama, the Tide went 0-4 in November.
In Nick Saban's 10th season, Alabama didn't allow a TD in November.

This is reality.
Nick Saban is 9-0 against former assistant coaches having won each of those matchups by at least a 14-point margin.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Saban was 2-2 against the pats when he was at Miami. So following the logic around here. If smart can break even against Saban he should make for a really great fcs coach. I think that Georgia state is really going to enjoy a lot of success with coach smart.

I think you missed a link or two there, Senator. Either that, or I just don’t get the post. But I am not a particularly smart man.

Never mind. Now I see. I am not a smart man, and my computer loads embedded tweets slowly.

As of today, CKS isn’t even in the top half of SEC coaches, much less even close to being a Saban clone. It can easily be argued that he is the #4 on the field coach in the SEC East! Comparing CKS to Saban right now is like comparing Adonis Garcia to Chipper Jones.

So Mark Richt going 2-4 vs Saban including 3 years when he won national titles was not quite as bad as it sounds?

two of the last three times we lost and lost badly on national tv…… 2012 seccg was the begining of search committee to replace the hc and the end of the “WTF era”.

Hum, and that 2012 SECCG might have been the most complete game UGA has played against the very top tier competition in ages. An eyelash away from a natty. Yep, that’s the best time to fire up a search committee. But the future looks so much brighter now, at least we don’t have to worry about coming up five yards short next week. I can actually relax this weekend. Thanks Greg.

Yep last I checked nobody has challenged him……oh but Tom Herman would’ve for sure! HA. A lot of coaches lose to him and will continue to do so, just ask Les and Chizik and Freeze and Sumlin and Butch and Richt….

Technically speaking, Tom Herman did challenge him the year OSU won the natty. 😉
