I’m not sure what my favorite part of this story is. Is it that Phil Fulmer and not any of his head coaches is the headline act of this spring’s five-city Big Orange Caravan fan appreciation tour?
Or is it that with his shiny new contract, Fulmer is now the third highest paid athletic director in the SEC? (With a raise applied retroactively!)
This is the point where I’d ordinarily say “don’t ever change, Volnation”, but I don’t really think they need any encouragement.
all they need is a time machine to take them back to 1997-98

Drove up 75 thru Knoxville Wed. Saw a couple of billboards with Fulmer endorsing businesses but none with Pruitt.

Fulmer’s narcissism knows no bounds. The saddest thing is that a large portion (majority or vocal minority) of their fan base thinks that’s how the program should be branded. Nostalgia for the glory days is a powerful impulse – Herschel and 1980 in our case – but surely it doesn’t captivate today’s recruits or the next gen of season tix holders. Pruitt will surely buck this in the not too distant future.

I’ve read a number of comments from Tennessee fans upset over the firing of their Chancellor for not other reason than she was the one that made AD Fulmer a reality and, therefore, was above reproach much like Fulmer. Those people really do deserve one another.

Usually the off season is dead but we have the Vols to follow as they wallow in the past. Looking forward to a chaos filled summer.

I wonder what the over/under is for how many time should this year Tennessee football tickets have Fulmer on them versus players or coaches?

This whole thing has a real Napoleon returning from exile feel to it, we’re just waiting on Waterloo.

Wellington is a neighbor of mine. He dresses in red and black and says Waterloo is scheduled for September 29.

Purpose of the trip is to separate Vol fans from their money.
Right now, Fulmer is more likely to do it than some guy from Alabama.
