When did ‘Bama fans get so whiny?

I’m not even sure I understand the complaint here.

UPDATE:  Paul Myerberg points out that ‘Bama dropped a five-star quarterback in Blake Barnett, too.

Say it with me now… *crickets*.

You would think all that winning would make them feel secure, but it hasn’t. Football is all they have. As soon as that gets threatened they’ll start whining like spoiled children. I’d say that’s already starting to happen.

Alabama fans feel terrible, for the next ten seconds. Then the one who transfers is a traitorous rat.

For the rational observer, it’s pretty easy to see why Alabama has a controversy and the others don’t. Jalen is easily the weakest of the 3 incumbents and got benched. Tua is the best of the 3 challengers at this point and saved the day after Hurts was ineffective. Lawrence and Fields haven’t even played a down.

Yeah, that is an odd message. It’s not called “feelingsball”.

Bryant would keep them on the roster so he would not have to face them.

Saban just processes them and shuts down their transfer options.

It’s good to be the king.

Alabama fans and their “feelings” almost elected a child molester to the Senate. Spare me your musings of self-righteousness, you backwater fucks.

I don’t know if Roll Bama Roll was ever good, because I’ve only read some stuff on it the last few years, but from what I’ve seen, they’re arrogant and whiny at the same time. It’s a pretty bad blog, really.

The empire is crumbling and they don’t see it.
Going to be fun to watch.

  9. When did we “drop” a 5-star QB? Eason transferred because he got hurt, lost the job, couldn’t beat Fromm out and wanted to play. He wasn’t unceremoniously dumped like Little Nicky has done to so many over the last 11 years. As a matter of fact, Kirby was very gracious to Eason after he made his decision. That first recruiting class could have gone completely sideways for Kirby if not for Skinny’s decision to honor his commitment after both Richt and Bobo left Athens.

Exactly. Nobody “dropped (Eason) like a dirty towel” at UGA. As best I can tell, everyone in the program loved Eason, and would have been happy for him to stay. He left on good terms, everyone seems to wish him well at Washington. Unlike, say, the herd of QB transfers a couple of years ago at Alabama, when Hurts won the job and suddenly those who left were considered “quitters” by the locals. If Tua wins the job and Hurts wants to leave so he can play, well, what’s the controversy? Nobody has to hate the one who comes in second, or root for his eternal misery if he leaves. Much as I dislike defending Clemson, looks like a similar thing there. Bryant and Johnson knew Lawrence was coming, and he seems to have outplayed both. If everyone on the chart gets a fair shot at the job, and Lawrence wins, so be it (same for Fields, I would imagine). The second string guy, as we saw last year, is one play from taking over. Some will wait, some will leave. Long as nobody was lied to or treated unfairly, such is life.

RBR is starting to resemble your average Auburn message board. I’m seeing a lot less analysis and a lot more undiluted tribalism.

Uh, as far as I remember, we all felt pretty bad about the Eason thing and are happy he’s getting a chance elsewhere where he can play.

  12. Bama fan here. FWIW, I don’t understand the shot RBR was trying to take.

The UGA fans I interact with were bummed that Eason was leaving because he was a good kid and they got attached to him after his one season. Same as Bama fans being bummed if Jaeln leaves after his two seasons at the helm.

It reads like a poorly thought out troll post.

Bama complaining about pretty much anything is akin to a trust fund kid complaining about his monthly stipend not covering auto insurance for his 3 exotic cars.

A “Bitter, Little” Fan, like myself took a picture of that tweet and will use it on their message boards during recruiting season.

LSU and Auburn fans would say Bama fans have always been like this and UGA is just now paying attention thanks to the recent national title game and hiring a valued member of the Bama staff away from them.

I’m married to a Bama grad and 70% of our friends are too. I have kept my head low and been self deprecating since the CFP Championship. When we punt them back to “also ran” status, I will be isolated and ignored. Can’t fucking wait.

ps. Get ready all. There will be all manner of Auburn people come out of the sheep pen to congratulate you, slap you on the back and sing “Michael, row your boat ashore” when that day happens.

Was it a shot at Clemson and Georgia? Or highlighting the hand wringing among Alabama fans over their QB questions?

Seems more the latter to me, but I am not proficient in Twitter-ese.
