Baby, things change.

Going back to something Mike Bobo said at his presser…

“The main thing that didn’t change was the terminology. You want to keep the terminology the same for the players. There’ll be little nuances that change of how we do things and a lot of what’s our identity going to be offensively. You might see some changes if our identity changes of who we are offensively. We don’t have a guy that can possibly extend plays as well. We have two of those guys who can but Stetson had elite quickness and the ability to get yourself out of trouble. We don’t have a 6-7 280-pound tight end so I think you’ll see some different things there and I think it would have been a little bit different anyway no matter who is standing up here.”  [Emphasis added.]

… a question for you:  how much do you expect Georgia’s offense to change because of the departures of Bennett and Washington?

My feeling is that losing the running threat from the quarterback position will matter some, but not as much as you might think because I expect this year’s o-line to be better than last year’s.  That said, Washington’s absence is going to be felt, for two reasons.  One, because there isn’t anyone on the roster who’s close to being his physical equivalent, and, two, because I expect Lovett to have a monster year out of the slot that will impact the distribution of the ball and the direction of the offense.

And you?

As the Pac-12 turns

Ross Dellenger supplies two interesting pieces of information:

So, the four survivors are meeting without Kliavkoff and they’ve got two years to reconstitute the conference to maintain its existence.  Both of those seem fairly relevant to an upcoming issue mentioned by Dennis Dodd.

A clean-up of sorts has been left to the powers that be who run the College Football Playoff. In what was a regularly scheduled meeting, the CFP Management Committee — comprised of 10 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick — will soon be forced to consider what has become of college athletics as a whole.

Not just football, the entire enterprise. The meeting itself will be strange, for starters, because some of the participants will have caused the mess.

Awkward!

Considering how much money is at stake — the next CFP broadcast deal is expected to bring in $2 billion — the four survivors have a pretty huge incentive to keep the band together for a while and not lose a seat at the table.  But do they still send Kliavkoff to represent them?

TFW Gawd has other plans for you this season

Damn, Billy.

I’m starting to think I may become legitimately concerned for the guy.

Baby steps

Welp, this is a start.

Now all we need is a Georgia Bulldog-themed craft beer and the ability to buy it inside Sanford Stadium.
