Honestly, anyone with half a brain could see this one coming.
Georgia coach Mark Richt granted ex-UGA LB recruit Dexter Moody an “unconditional” release, meaning he could play for any school. Moody told the AJC he could end up playing for Lane Kiffin at Tennessee.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Moody said he was invited to Tennessee’s Orange and White game on Saturday by the Volunteers. ”Me and my dad are planning on going up there,” Moody said. “They talked liked they were going to offer me a scholarship. I don’t know. I guess we’ll see. They just want to meet me in person and everything.”
Of course, who knew that after losing his Georgia scholarship due to some questionable… uh… life choices on his part, Moody would develop a grudge?
“Coach Thompson said they need some linebackers really bad,” Moody said. “I’m definitely very interested in Tennessee. It wouldn’t be bad to go there and be able to play against Georgia every year. That would be something, taking out some of my feelings against the team that released me. I think it would be fun.”
No argument there. Go for it, Dexter. You and Tennessee are made for each other.

Kiffin considers Tennessee to be an NFL minor league farm team anyway. Soon the Viles will be dominating the “Fulmer Cup” again. I say let him go and lets see what your made of.

Plus it’s not like Richt pulled a Spurrier on him and just yanked his scholarship for no reason. I don’t think he understands he screwed up the situation with UGA.

Wasn’t that the university’s fault? Saying they had X amount of scholarships when they didn’t, or something to do with the test score standards changing and they told Spurrier he couldn’t bring these kids in after he promised them scholarships….

I really, really want to give the kid the benefit of the doubt. He makes it so difficult with this incessant “it wasn’t me” attitude. He’ll fit in just fine with Kiffykins. If he’s excited because he gets to play Georgia every year, I got two words for ya: “Bring It!”
