“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Wow, just wow. Somewhere John Rocker is laughing his ass off.

Is it just me or is it perfect irony that McMackin coaches a team that used to be called the Rainbow Warriors?

The right to remain silent but not the ability or Lane’s laughing now –
“Don’t write that ‘faggot’ down. I was misquoted,” he said. “Just please … cover for me,” McMackin said Thursday. “Go ahead, say ‘faggot dance.’ No. Please cover for me on that, too — right Karl? I’ll deny it. Anything else?” McMakin returned and added, “I want to officially, officially apologize. Please don’t write that statement I said as far as Notre Dame. The reason is, I don’t care about Notre Dame. But I’m not a … I don’t want to come out and have every homosexual ticked off at me. You know what I mean. Because I don’t have any problem with homosexuals. But I apologize for saying that and I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t run that word. If you said dance, that’s OK. But don’t use the bad term that I chose, please. Thank you.”
Sounds perfectly clear.
The Gay, the homosexual that he doesn’t have a problem with, should give Coach McMakin the following award http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVVpAAQ1eWc
“Cocksucker Blues” was the title of a song Mick Jagger wrote to be the Stones’ final single for Decca Records, as per their contract. Its context and language was chosen specifically to anger Decca executives. The track was refused by Decca and only released later on a West German compilation in 1983, although the compilation was discontinued and re-released without the song.
Now in his acceptance speech, all Coach Mc needs to say is, “If I offended anybody, Notre Dame players, Weiss, queers, fags, whatever, I’m sorry,” and the whole problem will blow over.

This isn’t going to end well.
In lieu of going after the University of Hawaii and McMackin’s job, I suggest that GLAAD or whoever decides to pitch a hissy fit over this demands that McMackin go on national TV and demonstrate what a “little faggot dance” looks like….
while wearing a spiked leather cod-piece.

I see the politically correct police are striking again. Who gives a rats rear end what he said? I am white and you can call me cracker, or honky or whatever else you want, just don’t touch me or get in my personal space. People are too sensitive. If I were gay, I would just laugh at him and go about my gayness.

You’re right. Slurs should be fine. Yay!

Usually, statements that begin with “If I were gay…” end much more interestingly.
To be honest, I’m kind of disappointed.

I’m gay and after reading McMackin’s apology it sounded like he was really concerned he’d used a slur that certain people would find personally hurtful. It sounded like his intent was not to disparage a minority group, but instead to slur Notre Dame….that’s the kind of slur I can get behind and support.
Go Dawgs!…..Notre Dame sux c@$k…….me too.
