Well, a defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator leaving for greener pastures?

While perusing this blog post surveying the current defensive schemes employed in the NFL (worth a look if you’re still checking into differences between various 4-3 and 3-4 schemes), I came across a comment that had me running to the Tech boards… and sure enough, it’s all over the place that Giff Smith is leaving Georgia Tech to become a member of the Buffalo Bills staff.

If so, that’s Chantastic.  Smith has been an excellent recruiter for the Jackets for a number of years.  We here at GTP wish him the best of luck in his new job.

As the recruiting coordinators turn……..oh ,well.

He did a nice job, especially in-state. Is CPJ panicking? I doubt it.

But it looks like Chan got a little payback for his former employers.

It sure is quiet over at the AJC about the coaching lost. If this had been at UGA it could have been two weeks worth of negative press about the decline of the program at UGA. The reporters Bradley and schultz would have enough material for two weeks worth of lazy reporting.

Andy McCollum is a heck of a coach. I’d like to have him as UGA’s other LB coach.
