Most were sadists watching to see how many of the 93K fans were carted out due to heat stress of having to endure another noon start in the south. No one should have to endure a CFB in the SEC before 5PM. Now we have two teams stuck with a 12:00-12:21 time, one with 3:30 time during every September afternoon. Unfortunately, then we have 3 night games piled on top of one another every Saturday, at least two of which is usually intriquing as we flip frantically from one game to another.
I know, I know, I remember when there was only one CFB game per Saturday. But things seem so much worse with the WWL in control. I hope these numbers don’t encourage them to give UGA more of these punishing time starts.

My reply had nothing to do with the performance of either team, it dealt with the cruddy decisions to play football at a ridiculous time of day in this part of the country. (But don’t underestimate the impact a juiced up night crowd can provide.)
I will leave the autopsy to the “fans” here who seem to enjoy tearing the flesh off the bone of the program.

I’ve read this many times, and I still call BS.
I live 70 miles from Athens. Here, it is typically 8-10 degrees cooler at noon than at 5 pm. And the humidity really seems to set in around 3-4.
Go to your favorite weather site, and check the hourly history or hourly forecast.
I dislike noon starts, but it’s simply fiction that they’re played in the hottest part of the day.

I agree with Macallanlover. I see where you are going with the weather comparison, but that’s not a good comparison. We wouldn’t be kicking off at 5. It would be 7 or later. We’d also be playing the 4th quarter around 10 pm instead of 3 pm.
One more reason I’m down on the day games. Our fans are showing up very late and very flat. I would have been embarrased by the crowd Saturday if I was bringing a first time visitor.
Now I’m on a tangent, but what’s up with the cheerleaders? They only started the Georgia/Bulldogs cheer one time Saturday – while we were on offense. WTF man?

And the white-shirt frat sections of the upper deck didn’t fill in until after the 7 minute mark of the 1st Q.

My comment is a rant against ALL afternoone starts (just my opinion), but 12:00 starts do run into the hottest part of the day, while 5:00 starts allow some relief in the late stages when players may need some help. For fans, anything before a 6PM start sucks, especially before mid-October. After that, 3:30 starts are pretty acceptable. Noon starts should be reserved for the Big East and Big 10++.

But I think I’ve drifted into the whole “recruiting **may** be a big part of the problem” camp though recently. Let’s look at LeMay. The kid is not playing his senior HS season due to suspension. Sure, likely it’s a bunch of BS, I’m mean as far as I can tell, the kid got caught in a “consensual sexual act” on school grounds. Wow. You may well be a serious tool if you’ve never done that in HS.
The real question here is this: Do you honestly think that this kid has the ability to update his driver’s license on a proactive basis? Will he be able to resist the siren call of the broke-ass pseudo-agent that wants to buy his Car Care Bowl jersey? And I don’t even need to bring up a certain set of red panties.
Tongue firmly planted in cheek for most of this post. I am currently having my doubts though about our recruiting.

Me, too. I left the Alabama game early way back when Ray Goff was the coach. I learned my lesson.
It was so close to not being bitter, and was actually quite thrilling there for a moment.

Was that the moment before we got the 15 yard celebration penalty that allowed them to come back and win the game we had just won? Has there ever been a celebration penalty against UGA, following a score, that did not result in the opposing team getting points on the next drive? I honestly don’t remember one.
