Not their month

Russ Mitchell paints the prospects for a pretty bleak October for Florida this season.  And before you pooh-pooh his analysis, remember that the Gators were a timely turnover or two away from that happening last year.  Arguably, Florida has a tougher row to hoe this time.

Obviously, 3-18 makes me hesitant to jump on board with his 0-for-October call, but I will say that stretch is a good reason I believe Georgia has a better chance to win the SEC East in 2011 than Muschamp’s team does.

It’s certainly possible, and not much would surprise me for next season. The LSU/Bama games are almost certainly losses. But, I think we’d have a 50/50 chance against Auburn and a 50/50 chance against the Dawgs (roughly) so I’d lean towards us winning at least one game that month.

Though prior performance is no guarantee of future returns, you’re a little conservative on the Georgia odds.

Such a pleasant article. They aren’t losing to auburn and I think we have a good chance to win in jax, but it’s close to a coin flip, unfortunately. But it is such a nice article.

No way Florida loses to Auburn. Georgia game is a toss-up and there is a small chance for a LSU or Bama win. 2-2 is best case.

Also, sure the Georgia game came down to one play, but so did the MSU and LSU games. Especially the stupid LSU game.

  5. 50 – 50 chance in Jax if the Dawgs have the definitely better team.
The mind set of the players, (both teams), is usually the determining factor in who wins. At one time that favored the Dawgs. Now the Gators expect to win, period. Until we change that mind set a 50% chance is the best that we can expect.

If the Dawgs win that will be 2 wins for UGA in the last 5 years which is approaching parity.

Going to be an interesting year. As I have written before on this blog, no excuses for UGA this year.
