Steele lowers the Boom.

This hasn’t been a commonly uttered observation:

UF has won 3 str and 18 of 21. LY UGA trailed 21-7 at HT and 21-10 into the 4Q. UGA forced OT with a 21 pt 4Q. In OT, UGA was int’d at the UF7 and lost on a 37 yd FG. LY was the 1st time S/’79 in which both tms were unranked. FL had a bye prior (and the tm with the bye advantage is 12-2 in the series S/’95) and TY both are off byes. Muschamp is a ‘94 grad of UGA playing safety from ‘91-’94. Both tms should be as healthy as they have been since the start of the ssn with UF probably getting QB Brantley (188 ypg, 65%, 5-3) and RB Demps (324, 8.3) back and UGA getting back LB Ogletree. UGA will be playing w/out NG Geathers and S Williams for the 1H serving a susp for their actions vs Vandy two wks ago but they have solid ply’rs to fill their spots incl NG Jenkins. The Bulldogs have won 5 straight since their 0-2 start and they are led by QB Murray who is avg 236 (61%) with a 16-7 ratio while true frosh RB Crowell leads with 608 (4.8). The Bulldogs in several gms have beaten tms far worse than what the final score indicates but breakdowns in ST’s have kept their opp in it. UF’s off has taken a nose dive w/out Brantley avg just 210 ypg and 9 ppg in their L/3 gms (albeit all vs ranked tms) and big physical tms (which UGA is) have worn down their front 7 as Bama/LSU each ran for 225+ yds. With SC (beat UGA earlier TY) losing their all-star RB Lattimore for the yr, the Bulldogs have their sights firmly squared on the SEC Title gm and with a slight edge on off (#19-37) and a vastly more exp’d HC they take a big step towards Atlanta here. [Emphasis added.]

Does Georgia have a coaching advantage in Jax this go ’round?  And, given that the Zooker has a lifetime record of 2-1 against Richt, does that matter?

No, this is Georgia we are talking about. The offense will roll up 500 yards of total offense, the defense will play great and we’ll only manage 1 TD and 4 FG (missing 3 more) and lose 21-19.

    Uber Nonsense.

Game will be determined in the trenches. Which ever defensive line pressures and harrasses the others QB will make the difference.

Absolutely, that’s what keeps me awake at night. Our big dawgs up front have played hard, but I’m not sure they have the juice to deal with the speed UF brings from their DL.

I do think, however, that if we can keep the game close thru 2 qtrs we’ll be in good shape with KG and Shawn coming in fresh in the 2nd half.

This game like many others in the SEC will be determined in the trenches. The team playing with least mistakes (penalties/turnovers) and playing assignment football will win this game. Fla will rely less on QB/passing game and more on run game

Jarvis Jones and Cornelius Washington need to channel “Charles Jefferson” all afternoon long on Saturday. Who better to welcome Brantley back to the arena?

Zook had high caliber weapons and had absolutely no idea what to do with them. Muschamp has a team that not even a two-time BCS-Title-winning corch could do anything with. Coaching will be a lot bigger factor here than it was with the Zookster.

  6. For me, the hype has finally pushed me to despair. I feel like I’ve had four or five cups of coffee…jittery…
The factor that may really ride in the Dawgs’ favor is the cockiness of Grantham. His attitude may rule the day. No hand wringing out of him.
As much as we love seeing Spurrier throw his visor, seeing Muschamp’s head explode would be more than the equal to it. The trouble is, Muschamp can only do it once…

Ouch! My Dad is 80 and has a Motorola Atrix running Gingerbread. And he knows how to use it. Career military WO in SAC. Later worked with RCA and Univac. When my sons were accepted to Georgia with a Hope scholly in the honors program he gave them the pick of of his Harley or his restored 68 mustang. There isn’t a whole lot stock about these machines. Whenever they need “tweaking” my “tech savy” sons always go to their Grandfather.
          just sayin’ !

I hear ya. My father in law sends text messages that are very similar in length and spelling to the Steele excerpt above.

    Here’s what caught my eye:

“big physical tms (which UGA is) have worn down their front 7”

I didn’t realize we were that physical in our run game. Go figure.

The Insider analysis on ESPN gives UF the coaching edge. Take that for what it’s worth, even though they pick Dawgs to win.

Steele has been wrong about UGA a lot. Like last year. Experience isn’t the issue, skill is.

Richt doesn’t LEARN form experience, that’s why he’s 2-8 against the Gators, so experience isn’t an advantage.

As I recall, Steele said UGA would ‘run the table’ in 2010.

    Went 6-7.

    Steele in our spine? OMG.

Richt makes the same dumb mistakes year in year out, ignores past experience, like QB’s getting picked 3x a game, happened in 2008, 2009 & 2010.

Richt’s not smart enough to let experience teach him anything.

Damn Rob! Feel free to go piss in someone else’s oatmeal. “ignores past experience, like QB’s getting picked 3x a game” Son, Richt ain’t throwing the ball.

That might be one of the dumbest tings I have ever heard criticizing Richt. So what is he supposed to do? Use another QB? UGA had three different QBs in those games. Not pass at all? That would be smart. Just run every play.

      What is your point?

Exactly, Richt’s a genius for continuing to have his QB’s throw 3 interceptions a game 2008-2010, why can’t others see that? It’s not Richt’s, Bobo’s, or the QB’s fault, or anyone elses. Samford and Athens guy are so right. Throwing muyltiple interceptions against Florida is a sign of genius.
