Not only did he run for well over 100 yards, not only did he lay some terrific blocks (the one he threw on Figgins’ TD catch made me cheer), but he also bested the OBC in a battle of wits:
… The day started with South Carolina defeating Florida 17-12, which temporarily lifted the Gamecocks into a first-place tie with the Dogs. That was followed by this half-jab from Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier: “We’ll see how Georgia plays when they know they have to win.”
We saw. The comment was a source of amusement for some Georgia players afterward. When asked if there was something he wanted to say to Spurrier, running back Carlton Thomas only smiled and said, “Congratulations on the win.”
Phil Fulmer would have killed for a moment like that.
That is 100% pure gold.

Grantham is the new Erk Russell. Should shave his head and bleed like an Eagle. Or one of those hunkering down hairy Junkyard Dawgs. This defense can hold LSU.

And, unlike Bama, they can score on them too.

I try not to dwell in shoulda-woulda-coulda land, but everybody who knows anything knows crackalacky is just plain lucky to have won our game; therefore, I see us as 9-1, I see us as every bit Arkansas’ equal, and quite frankly if we’ve got another game like yesterday in us, I see us giving LSU a ball game.
It was the great Nuke LaLoosh who once said, “I love winning, it’s like better than losing.”

The double entendre from his remark is that we are also glad to see the hated FU go down again. My FU friends avert my eye and act as if they don’t see me in public places. The enjoyment cannot be measured when it’s priceless. And just keeps gettin better each day. I have not razzed or made any snippy remarks and I won’t because their squirming is all that’s necessary.

On sportscenter they quoted a SCarolina player saying Spurrier was “teary” after the game….? But no other information. What’s up with that? Could this be Spurriers last year?

There are internet rumors he’s going to quit at the end of the season because he doesn’t get along with the AD.

I figured it was because Sackerlina beat UT, UGA and UF in consecutive years for the first time. When you’re Sackerlina, you have to look for “achievements” like that to get teary about.

Apparently Steve didn’t realize that we’ve known for a while that we pretty much have to win every game.

This one’s for you Nick, and Trooper for supporting his dickishness.
So glad I didn’t have to root for Fl.

SO TRUE! As a lifelong Dawg, I COULD NOT root for UF. I always want them to lose and I really wanted our Dawgs to win this thing outright. I guess they did as well….

Florida is in serious danger of having a losing season. The Gators will get past Furman but will get lit up by FSU. That’ll get them to 6-6. It all depends on the bowl.

And the best part is that they’ve got their own CWM

it has to be said: the run blocking has been improving the last month. ct’s always run as hard as he’s been capable of, but it’s usually been into a brick wall. the line has created more space for uga tailbacks in the the last month than at any other time in the last 3-4 years.

Yes it has. That we have been healthy along this monster offensive line has, in my opinion, been the difference in the Dawgs win streak. This line is getting better by the snap and I think we can line it up and run at anyone in the country right now… Not to mention the rest of the team is Jellin! Its gonna be a fun end of the season with this team.

Like the chameleon that he is, Jeff Schultz has transitioned seamlessly from UGA hater to UGA lover in an obvious attempt to bask in the Dawgs’ reflected glory. To Jeff Schultz I lovingly say: Go f#ck yourself and take that rag you work for with you when you do it.

I was sitting in the Tate Center yesterday just before the game with a bunch of fans watching the UF/SC game. When Florida scored to draw within two, I felt sick to my stomach. It was then that I realized I had no interest in an eastern division win that Florida helped us get. To hell with Florida, and to hell with Steve Spurrier. Let the dawgs speak for themselves on the field.

I can understand where Spurrier was coming from. I have to admit I was thinking the same thing myself. Honking big games is sorta our thing and we haven’t beaten a ranked team in a long time (the 2009 Tech run-fest, IIRC). It was great to see Georgia come out like that and play such a solid game in those circumstances.
