    Clearly Fowler and Hart aren’t coming back. Kind of sad that their coach has clearly written them off.

    Becoming verklempt is nothing new for Nick. He has long been regarded as a legend in things relating to fantasy and in-the-arena temper disorders. So much so that they made a little movie about it in which the magic is unleashed

    C) Not as good as the guy ahead of him on the depth chart

    I’m a little confused as to why anyone would expect Nick Saban to feel bad for recruiting more running backs than he needs. I am sure he has seen many examples of teams that didn’t have quality running back depth. Perhaps he saw UGA in 2011, when we thought we were set at the position and then lost two in the offseason and had a freshman we couldn’t count on. His job is to make sure Alabama is ready to put the best possible team out there. The players will have their classes paid for. There is no guarantee of playing time anywhere. It isn’t his fault, it’s the fault of every other school out there for not convincing these kids that they’d be better served playing elsewhere.

      Maybe they’re doing it just to watch Saban’s intensity peak and then trail off(#Winning) and they’re got a bet on who will be the first to make him blow. Everybody knows that Nick does not have time for feeling bad for taking more than he needs

      I don’t think anyone expects Saban to feel bad. That’s the point. It’s the clearing the way for new talent that becomes an issue for some of us.

    So, the lesson of this story is if you want to be in Alabama’s plan for the future, you better not get hurt. Otherwise, you’ll just be dead weight, and we’ll do our part in the media to get you discouraged so you’ll leave and open up a spot for someone else.

    And, recruits buy into this because they never believe they will get hurt despite evidence to the contrary. If they want to stay, but aren’t making a splash on the depth chart, I guarantee Fowler and Hart will be on medical hardship before the 2014 class is signed. Disposable heroes.

    So let’s assume that Hart (who was a 5* recruit) and Fowler don’t make it back healthy. That still leaves Yeldon, Drake, and four incoming recruits. Saban said that three will get a good amount of carries. Even if you assume there’s another injury that leaves two without any carries. All 4 of these guys could have gone anywhere in the country. I will be shocked if 2 of the 4 incoming recruits aren’t gone within the next two years. I don’t blame Saban, especially since he seems to be able to get away with his creative “roster management” however, I don’t understand why all 4 stuck with Bama. There is absolutely no way all 4 get significant playing time. Kamara would have been smart to flip to UGA where he would have been 3rd on the depth chart and likely to get a lot more carries.

    Nick Saban is shocked that you’re shocked. He doesnt have time for the fact that in two years, two of these backs will be putting up numbers, and two of them will be helping themself to punch and cookies with Clayton, Larry, Mohammed, and Jugdesh at Youngstown State or Western Carolina.
