That’s always struck me as sort of a funny recruiting tactic. Do you really want to attract players to your school who are afraid of competition?

I don’t know about how much depth we have, but I think they have a working 2 deep that they feel moderately comfortable with.

Count me as suprised, but not outraged. I’m sure this is normal tactic with recruiting. I would guess Richt & Co. aren’t as negative, but the return barbs are pretty easy:
Muschamp won’t be back next year. Are you sure you want to play for Charlie Strong?
You think Tennessee is going to be bad this year, wait until their OL graduates. How endowed will they be at that point?

Even if he falls to 0-3 against Georgia, Will Muschamp will be back at Florida next year. He was 11-2 last year.

And I am happy about that. Boom will win a few but I still think his skill set is lacking for a job at this level. I just know how pleased I was that he didn’t end up on the UGA sidelines as many were hoping for. Being intense and loud doesn’t make you a good HC, especially when your emotions are out of control. Those qualities and passion are better to have at lower levels and not in the CEO chair.

Completely agree. He may have good Xs and Os, but he definitely lacks the CEO qualities. Most of the time, it looks like he’s trying too hard.

If they lose to UGA and go at least 7-5 or better, yes. But if they miss out on a bowl and/or slip up against a Vandy or Kentucky somehow? All the bullgators would remember from 2012 is nearly losing to ULL at home. It’s not likely, but I would probably herniate myself laughing at them if it did.

That reminds me of the same things Tech students would utter about UGA long ago (and the ignorant still do). Schools change and you have to look through refresher glasses each year when commenting about academics. Case in point: ‘Bama.

Honestly, discussions mixing athletes in college football and basketball at the D1 level with academics is a risky proposition. Until schools hold athletes applying for admission to the same standards as other students it begins the process of “cheating” and it gets worse from there. I realize that some athletes are qualified, and perform well enough to earn their degree, but all D1 schools fudge a little in these sports. And yes, that includes GT and ND who would have you believe there is no game playing. I still maintain 8-10 “semi-pro”, minor league type teams located in each region of the country is the best option for those athletes who simply want to get to the NFL. Then we can get back to real student-athletes competing and still have a team to support from the Southeast as they progress toward their goal of playing for big money later on. Those teams could play games during the week and leave Satuday traditions alone. Means more football, and less hypocrisy.
