The Cam parallels start… now.
Ah, second chances in today’s SEC. If Auburn makes it to a CBS game this year, I can hear Uncle Verne’s dulcet tones already.
And here’s the obvious musical accompaniment to Gus’ decision:

I've named Nick Marshall our starting QB. He's earned that opportunity. Auburn family let's get behind him and the team. #WarEagle

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Can you imagine if that game happens to be on the Plains against us? Between Marshall and Mett, will this be the narrative for the season?

Whether we beat both LSU/Mett & AU/Marshall or not, hopefully the narrative will show that Richt made the correct decisions concerning them and that UGA is doing just fine without them. Keep calm and carry on.

I think the interesting thing this year might be that we have a former cornerback playing QB and a former QB playing safety.
One of our starting safeties just got kicked off the team so there’s a very good chance Frazier gets some time in early.

Marshall is a gifted athlete but for some reason this feels like a cheap attempt at recapturing some 2010 vibe even if only in the minds of the fans and even if only for a bit. I bet they bring the All In stuff back too. Man it has gotten weird over there.

Good for Marshall, hope for the best for him. But how much better would you feel going into the Clemson game if he was starting opposite of Swann after a couple of years in the system? I know I would be sleeping better at night.
