A meteor game down on its luck

The Florida-Tennessee series ain’t what it used to be.

It’s been 3,290 days since Tennessee kicker James Wilhoit’s 50-yard game-winning field goal sailed through the uprights of Neyland Stadium’s north end zone. The Vols last beat rival Florida in 2004, and the Gators have won two SEC titles and two BCS championships in that time frame. Tennessee is on its fourth head coach since that night.

Now that Georgia-Florida has become competitive again, Gator fans may have to replace cries of “3-18” with “0-8”.

Too bad the Vowels could not acquire one of Georgia’s formers. I hear they made a run at Hutson Mason, but Hutson is no dumby.
Many Vol fans hope Butch Jones is the answer…my response is that time is the only answer…what amazes me is that Tennessee is forced to the middle of the barrel for a coach. Boom may turn out to be a bust at Florida, but at least he comes with serious credentials.

Damn it feels good to hear a different school getting picked on for losing to Florida.

Vol fans have all but evaporated around here. Not that anyone misses them.

They are Bama fans now. All the necks in South GA have switched from FSU to Bama. You can track this trend using WalMart team merchandise sales.

I would say this game is offensive to watch, but that is not accurate…
