Along that line, using Roku, I watched almost all of last years Scar vs. Mizzou game from that overhead flying cam in hi-def, commercial free, and even announcer free. It was great.

Whoa, really? With CBS? I just got a Roku, so I’ll have to look into that.

Not sure about what Prosticutor is referring to but there are a ton of complete games on Youtube which you can stream on Roku.

I don’t think it’s all games, but when choosing which espn to watch that night, that was one of the options for that particular game. It was just a different perspective and hope they do it some more. Like I said, no announcers, and instead of commercials, the cam just flew around the crowd so you could hear the people and bands.

Not intending to threadjack, but have a question that ~fits here. I’m in Durham, NC, and am not close enough to a radio station that broadcasts UGA games and the pre/after-game shows (although I swear I found one, however faint, five years back). Does anyone know if there a way to stream the radio broadcasts? Any help is much appreciated.

Yes, download Georgia Bulldog Gameday Live App for your smart phone and you can stream the games for free. Of course, they are a few seconds delayed compared to TV broadcast.

        I heart radio app 106.1.

Yep… this app is the cleanest way I’ve found to get the pre, in-game and post game radio broadcast. I DVR the games and on the opening kick-off, I hit the pause button on the TV during GOOOOO DAWGS… when toe meets leather. The radio feed is about 1 minute behind, so I wait then to hear the same moment on the radio and then hit play on the TV and I’m synced-up pretty good. Saves me from Andre Ware, etc. and if you make a mistake, you’ve got the broadcast recorded. Takes a little practice and the better your internet feed, the less lag there is.

Last year the games were streamed via the TuneIn app (iOS and Android), and I’m making the assumption that they will do so again this season.

I use tunein radio. My local station is WRGA-AM, I can get this website on my tablet.

I’m a cable-cutter. I’m doing that Montgomery Burns thing right about now with my fingers.

I care about 3 things on TV; Georgia football, Suits on USA, and Impractical Jokers on Tru TV. The Georgia football (plus a lot more games) is available via this CBS announcement and the fact that the ESPN channels, including the SECN, are now available to stream on Sling TV for $25 a month (on a month-to-month basis with no contract). The two TV shows I can get on VUDU or Xbox Video for a buck or two an episode one to two days after they air.
This means I’ll pay $25 a month for five months of Sling TV September thru January, and pay at most $2 apiece for roughly 60 combined episodes of those two TV shows each year. That equals roughly $245 a year. If, just for kicks, I want more content, I can throw in Hulu and Netflix at $10 per month apiece, and I’m still looking at roughly $485 for the year instead of the roughly $1,100 I pay for my current U-Verse TV package. So, yeah, I’m cutting the cable as soon as I can do so without an outrageous termination fee.

Unless you’re life just revolves around TV, or watching your favorite shows as they air is a really big deal to you, I just don’t know why anyone would pay for cable unless they just don’t have the ability to stream their content.

Try this with 4 TV’s and get back to me. Synch up at keast two of them on the same game while you are at it. That and who wants to play with a computer/video game while you have 10 people at your house who want to see the damn game. To me, that sounds like work.

I claim no knowledge of the TV business, but does anyone else think they’re betting on generating more revenue from advertising as a result of this? Similar to the way ESPN has different advertisements on their WatchESPN content?

CBS has been streaming online games for a few years now. And it’s actually decent quality for a live stream. Now if only ESPN will offer some sort of package for cord cutters…

Sling TV, $25/month and you get all of the ESPN plus SEC Network.

I’ve been thinking about Sling, but most of my cord cutting friends around here (no where close to Athens, much less GA) couldn’t tell me much about football/sports options. Good to know SEC Network and the espn’s are there.

Looks like the waitin’ for Ramsey to lead just ended. Greyson won’t be available to the media until after the game.

Richt pulled the cord now so that he could get reps with the #1 unit this week for game plan installation. Whoopee! Let the shit start flowing.

Haven’t they been doing this all the time. I’ve watched virtually every SEC game I’ve wanted to watch on their site for years now.

Seven weeks after arriving on campus, Greyson Lambert is Georgia’s starting quarterback.
Coach Mark Richt made the surprising announcement that the Virginia graduate transfer will start Saturday’s season opener against Louisiana Monroe at Sanford Stadium.
