No, the typical AD would rather overpay a mediocre football coach who’s got Jimmy Sexton as an agent and blow money upgrading perfectly fine facilities because he or she worried about keeping up with the competition. Let’s see how this guy would do with those 20 programs if the TV money wasn’t rolling in.
And don’t get me started on the quality work turned in by non-business ADs at places like Baylor and Penn State.
Just because Dave Brandon was totally unsuited for the job doesn’t make the rest of you folks geniuses. Or even competent.

The ridiculous thing about this is the singularity of the failure. Who loses money in the casino business? There is a casino more than two hours from anything in Phildelphia, Mississippi that makes money. Two hours from NYC and 1 from Philly and you go belly up? Forgive me if I think your business acumen is for shit.

I disagree that its the standard for all that’s “right and good”, however, because its necessary for both for economic prosperity and for maintaining our standing in the world, I am a fan of free trade and free markets. That’s why:
threats to renegotiate debt
threats to use protectionism to protect domestic workers
threats to kick out low wage workers which will necessarily raise the price of everything
a general distrust of international trade
using everything you touch to benefit yourself personally while screwing everybody else
all scares the hell out of me.

Just for kicks, I dusted off a college copy of Mein Kampf and browsed the chapters on propaganda and politics. You could take entire paragraphs, substitute “American” for “German,” substitute “gay agenda” or “Islamist” for “Jew,” and you have Trump’s campaign in a nutshell.
Frankly, it’s chilling.

I don’t care what kind of degree he has or experience they have once they get that title someone suck all their brains out. Must be a requirement for the job.

For all the crap we throw Gainesville’s way, Jeremy Foley has proven over time that you can run a profitable and successful athletic program across all sports. Florida had a worse basketball tradition than we had, but he found the right guy in Eddie Munster and won a couple of national championships. Now, has he put up with some knucklehead behavior in the name of winning games especially in the football program? Absolutely, but no one in Jort Nation cares one whit about it.
I don’t think it’s a matter of hiring a career college administrator or a business person into that role. It’s about finding the right person willing to make difficult choices, to convince donors to fund the programs, and to hire the right coaches to produce on-field results.

Reagan, Bush and Bush 2 rang up $11 trillion in debt and handed their Democratic successors more than $1.5 trillion in annual operating deficits. Clinton balanced the budget. Obama has cut the deficit by more than half. Reagan and Bush 2 inherited zero $ deficits and left behind craters of deficit spending.
Clinton is far more likely than Trump to lower the deficit. As in, she will and he won’t. 40 years of basic history and math prove that.
