More help for the reserve fund on the way

Kirby’s gotten more support staff.  So has Greg McGarity.

Who’s this Borman fella? Welp,

Butts-Mehre is always looking for new and creative ways to separate donors from a few more dollars.  You guys can expect to hear from Mr. Borman soon enough.

I’m surprised it took him so long. Colleges seem to have as many fund raisers on staff as students already.

In this season of love and compassion for all mankind, is it too much to ask that we wait to see how Mr. Borman actually performs in his job before we bash the hire?

  3. Why does the AD need this position? All they have to do is raise season ticket minimums.

He already had it. He’s filling it after the last person left 6 months ago.

      • I didn’t realize that. To a degree, the point is still valid. If they need to raise money, just raise the minimum contributions. I assume this position is more about raising money for capital programs or corporate sponsorships … in other words, large commitments.

Executive Associate Atheletic Director sounds akin to Assitant to the Regional Manager. Is he gonna be Dwight Schrute to McGarity’s Michael Scott?

I believe that there are now 4 Executive Associate Athletic Directors, a deputy director of athletics, and 1 athletic director.

6 people all making well north of $100k to run sports that dont win, serve hot drinks at the football games, keep the restroom floors covered in at least 1 in of “fluids”, and concession lines no shorter than 30 minutes.

Oh but dont worry, it’s only a $5/ticket increase and just maybe an extra 20% on your donation to cover these hard working individuals.

I believe that ADGM by himself makes north of 600K now. I bet a lot of qualified applicants would do his job for half of that.

Let’s not fool ourselves. His title may seem innocuous, but he’ll be pulling down a nice six-figure salary plus state government benefits. Between this guy and the beer garden guy we recently hired, that’s some serious new staff compensation added to the BM annual payroll total.

Come on, people! That TV money doesn’t spend itself.

  7. McGarity sure does have a lot of support from the people who matter. Scary! This takes me back to that eternal question: does anyone in this program actually have the knowledge and ability to make us elite? If not then why the f is 9-10 wins and a clean program NOT good enough?

I can only speak with my measly 4 season tickets but there needs to be significant improvement by the end of next season. There is no 4-5 year rebuilding. If the Smart experiment doesn’t work then house needs to be cleaned at the University of Georgia.

It’s the same everywhere in private/semi private education. I always wanted to advance and become involved or responsible for mission statements, objectives, goals, and achievement standards in education. What I learned is that all this stuff is really just mid level committee stuff. A headmaster or school president is 95% occupied with fund raising/development. Maybe mcgoof thinks he needs to get back to actually thinking about athletes.

Does Borman have P.R. skills? Now THAT would be a change!

If they’re anywhere close to the mad P.R. skills Martin Bormann used to have, we’re going to need a bigger bunker
