I know I shouldn’t take any pleasure out of someone else’s personal catastrophe, but it’s worth mentioning that Mark May appears to be out of a job at ESPN.
Okay, maybe a little pleasure… eh, okay…

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I’ll feel bad for him the same day he gets rid of the huge chip on his shoulder from 1980.

Whoops. Didn’t see it here. My bad.

No problem – it can always be a good reminder

May was correct. We weren’t used to rushing the passer 70-75 times a game. Marcus Howard adjusted in game by sacking the shit out of Colt Brennan to reduce that rushing the passer total.

Hotly ended up being right and May… well out of his mind. Good riddance! He sucked.

COULD NOT HAPPEN TO A NICER GUY!
Here’s hoping that he lands in some local TV station and lives out his days in obscurity….

He could end up on the ACC Network as a Pitt alum … whenever that happens. He and Danny Kanell could be the ACC shills that bash the SEC at any opportunity.

All I care about is I no longer have to see them come across my TV. So the ACC network is a great option for that.

ACC Network may never happen now.

My brothers and I have had many discussions about how much we all hate Mark May. I am going to go text them this good news right now!!

I’d rather have Herbie’s head but I’ll take it.

I’ll take watching Herbie any day over Kannel and May.

I prefer dumb over evil.
Herbie in 2006:
Michigan and Ohio state should play a rematch game for the national title!
Herbie in 2007:
Georgia can’t play for the national title! They didn’t win their division! Just like Michigan didn’t but that was last year and I’m an evil fuckhead!
That guy’s been dead to me since. Fuck him. We got screwed and he was the leading hypocritical cheerleader for it. All mark has ever done is be an idiot.

On a side note, I hate to see Dr. Jerry Punch on that list.

Mark May also petitioned against us in 2007. He once said our 1980 National Championship was a joke because his Pitt team was better that year. That was on a panel show that was discussing the greatest college teams of all time. He has bad mouthed Georgia on ESPN for years. Fuck that guy!

Danny Kanell gained just enough celebrity status (just enough, mind you!) that he might very well parlay that into a gig on something like “Dancing with the Former Stars.” To that end, the DWTFS producers could set up an audition tent on the ESPN campus.
Life’s a bitch, and then you dance.

You guys know how tv works at that level right? Do you actually think that Mark May or Lou Holtz was writing any of their stuff?

Agree…if they all said the same thing…boring…

January 1979, as a sophomore at Pitt, May was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, inciting a riot, and making terroristic threats. May reportedly was jumping on top of parked cars, threatening police officers and encouraging a crowd of onlookers to fight the officers.[16][17] He was found guilty of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, while the other charges were dismissed.[18]
As a member of the Redskins, May was twice arrested for DUI. The second instance occurred in March 1990, and the first in 1985 in Arlington, Virginia.[19]

Yeah he was dead on about Hawaii huh?
“Dang, Clark.. last time I saw a beating like that someone stuck a banana down my pants and turned a monkey loose!”

Oh.. and the legal troubles? How many times has he lectured athletes from the commentators desk? I’d never heard of these transgressions until I ready your post. So he’s a hypocrite and a douche.

I never got the hatred for May. Honestly, he was wrong about Hawaii but so were many pundits.

You just haven’t been watching then. He was wrong about Hawaii and many other things. Plus, every chance he got, he picked against us or said something negative about our program or team. His hatred of us is what caused my hatred of him.

I watch him many times. He really did say some nice things about Richt and Gurley and Chubb over the last few years. The notion of him never liking UGA is just not accurate.
Again, I have no relation to him…honestly.

It all goes back to 1980. He believes his Pitt team would have beaten Georgia in New Orleans and been national champions.

Yep. He’s bitter. The same way Spurrier was, but he could only come after us with his commentating, and unlike Spurrier, he never had our number. As illustrated above, we proved him wrong.
He’s always been down on Georgia. Even when he picked us to win a game, or to be a top ten team or whatever, he always found a way to get a jab in and call it punditry.
I’ve said before, I’m sorry for everybody who lost their jobs at ESPN. But this is the one guy I am elated to see gone… because he was so unprofessional and biased. I think he’s got plenty of money, NFL retirement checks and all that.. so it’s not like he or his family is going hungry. So good riddance Mayday.

Sorry to hear about people losing their jobs, except this one. Him, Holtz, and Herbie are what did me in on ESPN.
