It’s cool to see further confirmation of my thoughts yesterday about the two Georgia-Auburn games being mirror images of each other (except for the jerseys, of course). Check out Brian Fremeau.
And, yeah, that Miami stuff’s a little weird, too.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Although a minor note, it’s good to see our win was better than Aubies.
Not as satisfying as heckling Aubie fans abs they slump down Northside drive but for a Wednesday I will take it.

I’m hoping the lesson from the 2 auburn games carries over into the next two games.

Seriously. We only get one chance to watch film, evaluate and plan a scheme. Who is the best game-day coach, Riley or Smart?

Speaking of Miami, how in the world was CMR named national coach of the year over Smart or Frost. Makes absolutely no sense, particularly given how Miami ended it’s season.

Chryst and Riley could be considered too.

Indeed. CMR should have finished around 7th overall.

He went into the season with less depth and accumulated more injuries than Smart. He beat better teams than Frost. I don’t really care, but it’s not an out of this world decision.

He also missed 11 days of mid-season practice because of a hurricane and then reorganized his team by practicing for a week 200 miles from home, again mid-season- quite an unscheduled adversary.

@HVL Dawg: All of that makes no difference to some folks. To them Richt should have finished 105th.

Their last two games certainly took the luster off of that dust gathering trophy for sure.

I guess Miami has been a total dumpster for the last 15 years or so. To get them to the ACC championship game was pretty astonishing even if it did come down to a couple last minute drives to win close games.
I will say that Miami better recruit bigger faster guys. They looked like skinny boys running around on the field when compared to Clemson during the ACC championship.

@Biggen:And that is the difference between being in the top 3 or 4 and being where Miami is. Then there is how bad Miami made ND look. Sure they will be recruiting those type guys-big and fast.
