Shtick masquerading as analysis

Man, I know Danny Kanell fancies himself the King of SEC Bashers, but this is a little over the top even by his standards.

Auburn was the best team in the SEC last season?  Do tell.  I guess that explains how they wound up playing UCF.

  2. He was asked in an interview if he the playoffs went to 8 teams if he had a problem with two SEC teams being in the 8. He said “no, as long as they were in the same bracket”. If i had any doubt of what a ‘hater’ of the SEC this guy is – this sealed it. Clown doesn’t let facts get in the way. He’s a lightweight.

  4. The guy was fired by ESPN before last season and I think he must believe that resorting to even greater heights of hyperbole and shock-jock reporting will somehow allow him to re-establish his career. He’s a joke and we’re all in on it by responding to it.

Because the over-the-top anti-SEC thing worked so well the first time.

But you put your finger on it, Senator. “Bright contrasts” are one thing. Opinions at odds with clear facts don’t sell in sports.

How could he tell Auburn was the best team in the SEC? I’m guessing he only looked at the Bama game and the 1st UGA game. He obviously forgot about them losing to the team that lost to Troy and the other team that got pounded by Bama. I know I don’t need to mention the 2nd game against the Dawgs.

  9. ESPN fired him, so he has doubled down on SEC bashing to pay his bills.

Tough year for Danny and his SEC hating. Bama pounds his alma mater in week 1 and knocks out their QB for the year. SEC teams beat OU and Clemson in the playoff and then play an OT game in the final. He can’t say UGA didn’t belong since we were never behind until the game’s final play. So, with no other options, he carries on about Auburn and UCF.

All that said, Kannell is trying to build an audience and everyone outside the SEC loves to hate the SEC so his ideas will have support whether they are logical or not.

    Don’t feed the trolls.

This guy was assigned the Skip Bayless roll of saying stupid stuff that he doesn’t necessarily even believe just to drive clicks and engagement and hate-watching for ratings. Then when ESPN fired him he forgot to drop the act.

Throwing shade at the best coach the college ranks has ever seen when you yourself are an “also ran” QB isn’t a great idea.
