Florida, you may remember (not that it should take much effort), finished last season with a losing record. What’s truly impressive is how hard the Gators had to work for that, as this stat indicates.
That seems nearly impossible. Perhaps we haven’t fully appreciated the fine work Dan Mullen did.

Offensive genius…look at the miracles he wrought in Starkville…he turned chicken shit into chicken salad…prostrate yourselves, people…he’s not of this world…and oddly enough, he’s not even in this conference 🧐

That’s actually bothersome; Billy is a smarter coach than MuLLLen. I hope I’m not overrating but I fear I am not. He won’t be a pushover.

Saban’s pretty good, too, but we beat him. Our guy’s not a pushover, either.

Just started work so I can’t jump on this at moment, but this is interesting point to “yards” and “yards per play”
Y’all remember the UK game where MULLLLLEN said they had more yards than UK. But they are – from memory – a full yard per play less than UK
Same with WLOCP. UF had more total yards than Georgia, but I think almost 2 yards less per.
To run elite/championship quality offense- you’ve got to not only gain yards but be efficient

Yes, but… when you’re averaging 100+ yards per game more than your opponents, there’s no excuse for posting a losing record, even if you are inefficient offensively.

IF you’re playing from behind/fighting turnovers a good bit of the time, I could easily see how you post more yards than your opponent…

A few own-redzone turnovers will do that…

Sounds like they pulled off a few long, meaningless, clock killing drives in games they were catching a beating in, because the D was content to let them eat clock drinking and dunking 3 or 4 yards a pop with a long field. FTMF. 🙂

And also, that their O gave up some cheap scores with turnovers. The O will just grind it out up 3 scores. Because some folks know points, not total yards, is how we decide who wins.
Sound familiar?

Grantham says hold my beer. Giving up points is waaay better than running up those yardage totals.

Sounds like a “Bend and then break” offense.

Those are all wins in the Moral Victory column.

The Bull Gators made a final decision on wins vs. yards.

Florida has had 3 losing seasons last 9 years.
Our dogs had just 1 losing season in the last 25 years.
How’s that gap closing Dan?

This is what happens when you hire an OC as HC and he still thinks his only job is OC.
