A valued member of the staff

I’m trying to picture the reaction from Greg McGarity if he was asked to approve a second raise in three months for an assistant coach.  Luckily for Tray Scott, that’s not a problem.

Georgia football defensive line coach Tray Scott’s pay has gone up for the second time this offseason.

Scott received a $45,000 pay increase that took effect Feb. 27 and another for $200,000 that kicked in on April 1 that brings his compensation to $1 million annually, according to information obtained Thursday by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request.

The only member of the staff making more than that is Schumann.   Scott’s earned it and Kirby knows it.

How many other programs do you think made overtures Scott’s way over the past couple of years?

Meanwhile, at the (expanded) CFP…

And here we go.

Remember, those first round games are on campus.  I’m looking forward to the first time Georgia lands the coveted Friday night spot and 90000+ fans fight rush hour traffic to get to Athens.  Should be a complete blast.

Mid-week semis sound like a blast, too.  Mini-vacations for both those and the natty, if your team makes it through, is quite the time commitment.

Vote of confidence

Nick Saban saw the same thing with his A-Day quarterbacks that I saw.  And with that, into the portal!

Buchner’s 2022 stats are nothing to write home about; he finished with a subpar 121.18 passer rating.  Which begs the question: if he’s considered an upgrade, what the hell is going on with Alabama’s evaluation and development at the quarterback position?

UPDATE:  Here’s a hot take I didn’t see coming.

Hell, it’s not even the best QB room in the conference.
