I’d almost be willing to credit that as parody, except nobody in the Gator fan base has a sense of humor.

Kirby’s next recruiting pitch

I don’t know if that’s more impressive to recruits than waving a couple of national championship rings around, but it’s gotta be damned close.

The gaps just keep on coming.

Greg McElroy has a new one for you.

Former Crimson Tide quarterback and current ESPN analyst Greg McElroy answered questions for a mailbag on the ESPN College Football YouTube account recently. He was asked for his take on the narrative that Georgia is now on a different level than Alabama.

“Let’s start with the fact that Georgia right now is the standard in college football. That is not some secret. That is not some hypothesis. This is fact. They’ve won consecutive national championships. They are, right now, based on preseason prognostications, favored by many to win three in a row,” McElroy said…

“It’s no reason to try to pretend like the gap doesn’t exist. There is a little bit of a gap right now. But all of that can change this upcoming year, because you’re only as good as your most recent game. Alabama looked great in theirs. Georgia looked phenomenal in theirs. They’re No. 1. They’re the top dog. But if you get behind Georgia, Alabama’s certainly in the mix for the No. 2 spot at the very worst,” McElroy said. “Obviously Ohio State’s in that conversation, amongst several others. So don’t panic. But right now, yes, it’d be impossible to ignore the fact that the Dogs are the program to be right now in college football.”

All of which makes me wonder… has anyone checked in on Finebaum’s audience to see how they’re handling takes like this?
