… My modest proposal for college football is to have a little flexibility. In an ideal world—one without pesky things like TV contracts—the sport would play it by ear. If Texas vs. USC is the only game anyone wants to see, make it happen. If there are four one-loss teams, throw them all into a playoff. And if there are five or seven or 10 teams that are roughly indistinguishable, don’t bother with a playoff or a championship game. The regular season may do a terrible job at selecting the country’s best team, but it functions rather well at determining who the best team isn’t. This year, every team has done more than enough to eliminate itself from contention. So, let’s play all the bowls, give everyone a smallish trophy, and tell them better luck next year…
I like that. But there’s all that money in a championship game…

THERE IS SUCH A SIMPLE SOLUTION. NO ONE SEEMS TO COME UP WITH ANY PLAYOFF IDEAS BECAUSE ANYTHING WOULD BE BETTER THAN THE BCS CRAP. WHAT IS A TRAVESTY IS THE FANS, GET IT THE FANS WANT A PLAYOFF. WHEN ARE THE FANS GOING TO BE HEARD. OK, THIS IS IT, LET THE BCS FORMULA DETERMINE THE TOP 8 TEAMS.NUMBER 1 PLAYS 8, 2 PLAYS 7 ETC. SLOT THEM IN THE ORANGE, SUGAR, FIESTA & ROSE BOWLS STARTING WITH EITHER THE FIESTA OR SUGAR THE FIRST FRIDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. PLAY THE FIESTA OR SUGAR ON FRIDAY NIGHT, THEN THE ORANGE AT NOON ON SATURDAY, THE FIESTA OR SUGAR AT 4PM SAT. THEN THE ROSE AT 8P. THE LINEUP USING THE BCS FORMULA WOULD BE OHIO ST. VS KANSAS, LSU VS SOUTHERN CAL, VT VS MISSOU, AND UGA VS OKLAHOMA. IF YOU CAN’T GET EXCITED ABOUT THIS FORMULA THEN STICK TO THE PROS. THE FOLLOWING WEEK THE WINNERS WOULD PLAY ONE GAME FRIDAY NIGHT & THE OTHER SAT NIGHT, WITH THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THE NEXT WEEKEND, (WHICH BY THE WAY WOULD BE ON JAN.12TH). WE ARE ADDING JUST 2 MORE GAMES AND EXTENDING THE SEASON BY 5 DAYS ACCORDING TO THE REDICULOUS BCS FIASCO PRESENTLY. I DARE ANYONE INCLUDING COACHES, ADS AND COLLEGE PRESIDENTS TO COME UP WITH A BETTER PLAN. CAN I GET EVEN SOME FEEDBACK GUYS.REMEMBER THIS WHAT THE FANS, YES THE FANS,FANS,FANS DEMAND!!!!!

If you go by what is said in the Quote of the Day at the top of my blog, the fans would seem to be sending a mixed message at best to college football, if what you write is true.
