Things that made me chuckle this morning, part one.

Mark Richt, you card, you.

Richt actually knows this, but he is playing coy with the media. Richt believes the uncertainty over whether Marshall Morgan is suspended or not provides a strategic advantage for the Clemson game.

If uncertainty over Marshall Morgan’s kicking provides a strategic advantage, based on last year’s performance, that’ll be good news for Georgia for longer than just the opener.

Imagine all the practice time Clemson is wasting attempting to catch a PAT or field goal that clanks off the goal post … brilliant deception CMR!!!!

      Ouch. BUt, LOL.

Dabo: “look, Sammy, if you can get 2 or 3 rebounds, we can blow this ol’ tomato can right inta Lake Hartwell!!!!”

Sammy: “Okay, coach. Sammy will be enjoying showing off his versatility. Sammy is gonna be the best rebounding football player in America.”

Random Clempton fan: “IPTAY, baybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. WE GON’ MAKE THEM BOOODAWGS SEE URNGE AHHHHHL NAHT LAWNG!!!”

      Clever work, Evil Richt.

His approach to announcing suspensions is so nutty it borders on superstition, especially given we’re going to replace one modestly talented kicker with another modestly talented kicker. And b/c this game, of all games, seems unlikely to be decided by kicking.

    There, I’ve jinxed us.

You know, if Don Corleone had spoken in a montone, with a blank expression, in a tuxedo with cutoff sleeves, he’d be the Italian version of Bill Belechik.

Not sure where CMR would fit into a Godfather scenario, but I can definitely see Grantham as CMR’s version of Sonny. Or maybe Clemenza. And Rodney Garner would seem to be fitting into the Tession slot at the moment.

James Franklin better watch out; Grantham was about five seconds from turning him into the SEC’s version of Carlo in 2011.

I guess it’s going to be a season where we go right straight to the mattresses, huh? Leave Howard’s rock; bring the cannoli.

If Morgan’s potential 1 game suspension is the biggest story of the off-season, you’ve got to feel good about this year.
