“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Ya know, I sat and watched about 3/4 of that game (the parts that mattered at least) and the only thing I could think was “So what if this blows our chances at the Nat’l Champ? These Ark. kids deserve to win this game.”
But what if it didn’t? Let’s take a look at this:
1) Dawgs beat Tech.
2) UT loses
3) Kansas wins
4) W. Virginia loses
Dawgs automatically move into the No. 3 spot behind Ohio State and Kansas. Then:
1) Dawgs beat LSU in SECC.
2) Kansas loses the Big XII Champ.
At that point, it’s POSSIBLE that the Dawgs could jump into the National Title. However, if Kansas loses to Missouri and then Missouri loses the Big XII Championship, does a 1-loss Kansas jump UGA?
Man, I really hope all that happens above. Not just because I want the Dawgs to be in the Nat’l Champ. game, but because it’s the BCS’ worst nightmare.
I need a drink…

Funny thing for me as I watched is that I wasn’t wondering about the MNC – I was wondering what the Arky fans were feeling about the Nuttster as the game unfolded.
It’s been a wild year, that’s for sure.

LSU was always in danger of losing because they do not have a playmaker on offense other than Doucet and it takes a good QB to assure he gets the ball. Any other team who has a guy who can take over a game could give them a game if their guy is on.
