Like a bridge over troubled waters…

Injuries, coaching defections, drunk dudes, motivational issues – none of it troubles the GPOOE™.  It’s all going to be magically fixed by the Baby Jesus’ birthday.  Somehow.

Tebow understands his team is hurting, but he’s seen some recovery and he’ll do his best to inject some more seasonal cheer into his teammates to have them prepared for New Year’s Day. The Gators are scheduled to practice today before breaking for the Christmas holiday.

“There’s some turmoil going on and some things that have to get straightened out and get re-focused,” he said. “That will come about by Christmas time or so.”

Of course, it probably helps when your opponent will be on its second transitional head coach since the end of the regular season.  Assuming that guy sticks around for the bowl game.

That can only mean one thing: on or about Christmas Day, Tim is going to deliver unto Urban a baby with a remarkable resemblance to a minature nine pound Tim and that baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes, shall have been delivered by Tim himself when he was doing a combined obstetrical and surgical residency at Shands and then placed in a manger at the UF Vet School before delivery of the baby unto Urban. Why two residencies at Shands at once? Because that’s just the way Tim does things. As it was prophesized between the lines in Tebow in a nutshell, Urban shall haveth life forevermore like a blackbird despite passing once again on the Notre Dame job…

Tebow could give a sermon on the mount to motivate the team, but they can’t find a friggin hill in Florida.

First, I am not a Tebow fan. However, I think that making fun of him because he professes his Christianity unabashedly is unfair and childish. I love your website Senator. Frankly, I expect better from you. I enjoy yourlevelheaded and rational observations about our progam, but I think this post is unnecessary and immature. I know, I know, I can get my own blog and blah blah blah but I think making fun of him because he professes his faith and is not ashamed ofit is silly.

    • I’m not making fun of his religious convictions, hodgie – just his Gator convictions.

      Hodgie-
Get your prude panties out of a wad. My guess is that the Senator, Hog, and Fla Dog don’t really have a damn thing against bible thumpers or christianity in general. But I’m going to make a bold assumption they have plenty of things against the Gators. They are like most dedicated dawg fans in the sense that its all about a hated rivalry. Just ask my Gator wife- she knows. And most certainly in this rivalry nothing is sacred. Not marriage, not baby Jesus, not nobody or nothing. That’s what makes it so much fun.

Hodgie: Your opinions are yours, but your comments offend because this is not the forum for them. You call people unfair, childish, immature, and silly because they make fun of something Tebow puts into play. Really? If it’s childish to poke fun at Tim Tebow’s religion, than childish I am.

        Hodgie,
There’s a verse in the Bible that tells Christians not to make a show of their beliefs and convictions.Tebow does both.He deserves the ridicule.

It’s not making fun of Tebow’s faith to point out the absurdity in the argument that Christmas makes all their problems vanish.

    Senator,
His gator convictions make me sick as well.

    Rival,
I think the context and theme of this post as well as many others lead me to believe otherwise. That’s why I posted.

    Have a Merry Christmas

    Moggs,
Its the old prude here. I do think there are many things that are sacred to me, even inside of a football rivalry. I am sorry you think that way.

On the other hand, you Al, are spot on. Accusing the other side of sour grapes is refreshingly fair game, and you may have a point about Georgia fans, other than me of course.

I refuse to let logic enter this discussion.

Oh, and there’s no crying in football.

  9. Well, his goodness didn’t come to UGA, he went to fla. So that means he is open season on a UGA blog. Is there something here that is too complicated for you gators to clamp down on?
