I’m sure this post at SPORTSbyBROOKS will get attention for the nonsense about Trooper Taylor’s non-existent job offer from the Dallas Cowboys, but there’s another part I enjoyed more.
… At the time of Pike’s verbal commitment, which was an enormous recruiting coup for Auburn, Pike was asked if he had been concerned about Auburn assistant coaches abandoning the team thanks to the possibility that the school’s football program could be hit with NCAA sanctions.
Pike’s response:
…
“Whatever, let people say what they’re going to say. That’s a Mississippi State problem, that’s not an Auburn problem.”
“That’s a Mississippi State problem…” Gee, I wonder who planted that in his head.
It just goes to show that the best defense is still a good offense.
Now that’s a quote from an Auburn man. Good thing for Auburn the NCAA is a bunch of spineless cowards.

Unless you freely admit what you did wrong…then they throw the book at you.
If they find things through their own investigations *and you cooperate (turn someone else in)* you get a slap on the wrist.

Why the continued attention to Auburn’s “status”? Auburn doesn’t recognize “rules”. They blatently violate rules and the NCAA does nothing; the SEC does nothing. Auburn is being rewarded for thumbing their nose at the rule makers. Why would they change? Lather, rinse, repeat.

Sounds like a future politician though.

Pike ought to fit right in, he’s got the same powers of reasoning as the rest of the Auburn “family”. Meanwhile, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see how MSU’s “problem” is directly related to the potential for problems at Auburn.

i’ve heard this same line from several auburn people. i don’t understand how msu is any kind of trouble for NOT paying cam newton. what’s the logic? because they have “booster issues”? that’s the only reasoning i can come up with.
