I don’t know what it is about KC Joyner and his penchant for using stats to come up with all manner of bizarre conclusions and predictions about the SEC, but all I can say after reading this doozy…
ESPN’s K.C. Joyner has ranked his top quarterback-receiver tandems in the SEC going into the 2012 season, and his choice for No. 1 is going to surprise a lot of people.
He has Vanderbilt’s Jordan Rodgers and Jordan Matthews at the top of his list.
In choosing his top tandems, Joyner used a list of metrics from the 2011 season that detailed such things as how the combo fared in short pass yards per attempt, vertical yards per attempt and overall yards per attempt.
… is that it’s time to get some new metrics, bud.

Pretty obvious that the Senator DIDN’T pay for that because the other rankings had to be paid for. The top one was for free on the site.
Anyone know who was the next four ranked combos? Agree with you , Senator, that you have to bend over backwards and open up to believe whatever he used to come to that conclusion. The same figuring has continued with Mizzou without anyone factoring in changes to their starting personnel.

All I know was we kept collapsing the pocket on Rodgers, and he kept scrambling and creating big yards out of nothing. Kwame had the guy by the shoulders in the end zone for what would’ve been a game icing safety but somehow the guy managed to wriggle free and scramble for 10+ yards.

For what it’s worth, here are Matthews’ receiving numbers in the games played after Rodgers became the starter:
Army: 1 catch for 8 yards (probably still recovering from Sean Williams attempt to decapitate him 20 yards away from the play the prior week)
