“I’m not worried about him knowing anything.”

Aaron Murray’s not exactly quaking in his boots over the prospect of facing a Willie Martinez-coached pass defense.

  1. Finally getting the chance to line up across the field from Willie Martinez, I feel a lot like I’ve felt every time the Braves finally got a chance to face some hapless relief pitcher who stunk up their bullpen for years after they’d moved on: you cost us a lot of games and you owe us some wins, moron, and now it’s time to to pay up.

Someone knock on some wood for me, but I don’t blame him for not being concerned. Let’s review here…..Martinez was notorious for teaching his corners to play the reciever and not the ball. Granted that has bit us in the tail a few times this year (playing the ball and giving up a big play if you miss), but we were never a threat to intercept with Willie two Big Thumbs. Murray has to be licking his chops. The back shoulder throw will be u-t-i-l-i-z-e-d!

I’m going to wait until I see the first half to make any proclamations of this nature.

I think it’s difficult to evaluate CWM. On one hand he was part of a lot of wins as a UGA assistant. One could also argue he was never qualified to be a UGA assistant and was hired due to nepotism. Unlike BVG, who still gets a lot of praise from ex players like Pollack and Thomas Davis, I don’t recall hearing ex players express much respect for CWM.
