Fess up – you’d be a little disappointed if that weren’t the case, right?
For those keeping score, Trooper Taylor AND Curtis Luper are both continuing to recruit for Auburn.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I’m real curious how they’re spinning the pitch.

Deferred payment options with decent interest rates?

Nah. Just cash in a brown paper bag–untraceable bills.

They may be short on cash after paying Chiz’s buyout. $10M is a lot of yellawood.

Cash in a security envelope, white #10. You take it like you are taking a letter then you hug one another and say goodbye.

Cash is so old school, it’s ATM debit cards now. Easy to use and hard to trace.

Cash only baby. Except at Tiffany’s. Don’t nobody need to know where you are. Not even the closest ATM..

Of course. It is no fun to play a team every year that sucks at CF.

Sure it is. I always enjoy the Tech game.

Sweet. Maybe they can get Auburn saddled with a few NCAA violations as a nice parting gift.

Taylor must have naked pictures of Pat Dye and Jay Jacobs, the password to Mike Slive’s computer, AND know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried. Good God.

The pictures of Pat I could believe. Probably from the area where his pants were found in the lake

Rusty,
Not something I’d like to imagine, however 😉

You can’t fire Trooper he knows where all the bodies are buried and where all the money went.

Trooper Taylor’s picture is in the dictionary beside the word “shady”. He HAS to be the “bagman” and know where all the bodies are buried because he sure as hell can’t coach.

Is Bagley our Bag Man? Cause we may need one. If only to run around the Plains and SC at the Lake to lay down some new ones.

Which one cuts the checks and which one hands them to the players?

Everyone knows you can’t have the person printing the checks also signing for them. How can the school have any integrity without proper accounting practices?

Coach Garner continued to recruit for us after Coach Donnan was let go and we brought in Greg Blue, Thomas Davis, Robert Geathers, Fred Gibson, David Pollack, and D.J. Shockley, if I recall correctly.

I think DJ followed Richt from FSU here.

Correct. He was a Seminole until Richt changed addresses. He wanted to play for Mark Richt.

Wow, I did not know that. That makes me respect DJ’s patience even more.

Also too, CMR’s recruiting abilities pre- and post-enrollment

I thought all the coaches had been terminated. The report I remember said they were all gone and could reapply. If that’s the case, what?

Arent they out of cap room with the dismissal of Chizek?

Auburn is a football program with a lot of “ifs” in its future.
If I was a recruit, I would be very guarded about a desire to play on the plains.
Probation. How long? What kind? Scholarship reductions. A new coach and staff. Will Luper and Taylor be retained on that staff? A new head coach might have to think long and hard about those two coaches with their history, in particular if they are named as violators in the rules infractions.

Honestly it tells you all you need to know about their athletic department. I’d be surprised if they get a good head coach, because it’s quite clear that the HC is not in control of the program. Somebody else (*cough* Lowder *cough*) is. It’s why Tuberville was run out of town, and it’s why Trooper and Luper are being retained. They’re going to bring in another “YES man” and put the staff in place that Bobby Lowder wants. Jay Jacobs is simply doing the bidding of those with the money.
