Why is it that so many of the same people who bray throughout the year that they’d rather have the three-star kid who’s dedicated to being at the school freak out when the five-star kids look elsewhere at the last minute?

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

These are most likely the same people who were the first to grab the pitchforks to run guys like joe tereshinski and joe cox out of town. ratings aren’t perfect but a 5 star is more likely to be productive than a 3 star. talent matters i’ll take as many 5 star recruits as i can, all day every day.

People are dillusional. I’ve never been one of those. I just want every 5 star we can get our hands on. And I’m upset when we sign 3 stars

Once fans get accustomed to a a commit coming to your program, it’s hard to handle when you’re “fed” a different scenario.

Good question. We are, after all, talking about hormonal high school kids. I know I was pretty stupid when I was that age. And I was considered on of the smart kids.

Why not the best of both worlds…five stars who are dedicated and are hungry.

Because without those fans the ajc recruiting web site would cease to exist. We’re ‘desperate’ if a 5 star doesn’t commit. And if its a 3 star GA kid we never offered, then we ‘missed’.

I love recruiting season – it brings out the stupid in all of college football.

The only coach in the SEC capable of handling the Prima Donna 5-stars that think their S don’t stink is Lil Nickie. He will either break them of it or he will kick them to the curb for next years model.

Sorry, but I approve of the way Li’l Nicky does it and wish CMR was more that way.

When I follow the “Atlanta Journal Constituion” link (on the right hand column of this blog), an AJC Home Page type screen appears. When I hover my mousie over “Sports”, there is a menu that includes GT, and Georgia State, but exludes UGA. ????? Maybe Georgia Stae IS “that other team in this state”.

The only thing more infuriating than a 5 star recruit holding out til the last minute is when June rolls around and you find out they won’t qualify anyway.
