Shorter, yet utterly predictable, Mark Bradley: Even if Georgia Tech isn’t very good at them, Mark Richt sure could learn about special teams coaching from Paul Johnson’s example.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I don’t like Mark Bradley. I also don’t read the subject article as a negative piece re: UGA or CMR.

I like both moves.
McClendon now has a chance to take our recruiting to the top level .. something we’ve lacked. Maybe now, if we lose elite players we covet, it won’t be because we get outworked.
I’ve always thought coordinating all the ST’s was too much for one position coach, even one like Lilly. Plus, this way should give us more thoroughness and creativity. Of course, some ST expertise could come from ex-coach non-coaching staff, if we wanted to go in that direction.
But the biggest thing with ST’s is still putting good players on the field, the RIGHT players on the field, and just doing a thorough job of coaching them well.

Now that there are two special-teams coordinators, I want to know is what will RIcht do if they allow a 10th assistant coach next season. Before, he said he would probably hire someone to do special teams full time. My vote would be to hire a second OL coach. Let Friend coach interior linemen and then hire a Tackles coach.

If/when that happens, he’ll hire a dedicated ST coordinator. At least that’s what he’s supposedly told people lately.

Two coaches have to loose “Coordinator” titles if you hire a full time ST Coordinator, unless you have three ST Coordinators. I would still rather have an OT coach who can recruit.

Senator, I think Bradley is writing just for you. Get them hits any way you can.

Agent Bark Madley is doing his job well.
The longer the humble bumbles stay convinced their man is a genius, the longer he stays, and the longer Georgia wins.
Woof.
