There are times when I almost expect to see Malcolm Mitchell’s face on the side of a milk carton.
Despite the constipated nature of Georgia’s passing game, he somehow has managed to be tied for sixth in the SEC in receiving yards with 617 on 43 catches. Amazing.
Malcolm is the only player on the team who has played well on every play he’s been on the field. He deserves props for his effort both with pass catching and downfield blocking. Just wish he had someone to get him the ball consistently. DGD.

And he is frustrated. May he make many many dollars playing on Sunday.

Fun fact, Malcolm Mitchell has caught a touchdown pass every time he’s played auburn. Let’s hope the trend continues.

43/617 with that many catches he should have a lot more yards. Shows just how bad our down field passing game is. Great player, great hands and will excel on Sunday for sure.

I somewhat agree on the yards but even then his average yard per catch is over 14 yards. Hopefully he will have some big games to finish the year.

Another Todd Gurley and we just don’t know it. He works like hell to get open and fights for the ball. Has BS put him in motion a single time this year to help him get open? He usually lines up on the line.

Its not BS’ job to put people in a position to succeed. If they are good enough, they will do it. Just ask Derek. If you apply his oft-stated opinion on coaching QBs to WRs, lack of production is not the fault of coaches–Malcolm is just not very good.
I disagree with this thinking. I believe Malcolm is a fantastic player handcuffed by a shitty OC.

The OC isn’t out there throwing the rock around. I think it’s more a case of him being handcuffed by 3 shitty QBs

He has to be in the position to make a play. With this OC he has not been in that position nearly enough. Even with 43 catches I don’t think they are using him enough.

Nonsense… we were the #2 passing O in 2011 and Mitchel finished that year at number 4 in the SEC with 45 catches 650 yards. 14.65 YPC. He will eclipse that even without a qb that wont get a sniff from the NFL. Unless he’s a punter. He cant catch them all son…. doesnt work that way.

He is blocking well on the edge too. Wish Lambert could throw it to him.

Shocked to learn that Mitchell has 43 catches in the season. I am not nearly as high on him as others, but I also believe that this WR corp is extremely poor and lacks a true #1 caliber WR. That being said, Mitchell is the best of the bunch. It would be nice if this team had any type of vertical threat.

“lacks a true #1 caliber WR”… yeah.. if you’re definition of such is an AJ Green who comes along maybe once every 5-10 years. Realistically, Mitchell is a very solid #1. What we lack is a competent #2 or #3 receiver, as well as a QB who could get the ball to any of them.

AJ the exception rather than the rule. I was of the opinion that the WR group was not very strong early on. Hearing those with more football knowledge tha myself (Champ Bailey, Buck even though he is a douche on the radio etc) state the very same support my belief. What no one, myself included, would question is what a DGD Mitchell has been and is. Right or wrong, I believe that our offense is struggling due to combination of poor OL, weak WR’s and shakey QB play, not just one faction.

Definitely. I agree that our WR core is weak as a whole. You need more than 1 guy or else it makes it a lot easier for Defenses to defend… especially when your QB just stares down whoever he’s throwing to and doesn’t have much time to do it thanks to poor OL play. But just looking at Mitchell… I think he would be a fine #1 receiving option on many other teams. I think he’ll prove that not too far down the road on Sundays.

He should be getting at least ten to fifteen touches. Clearly the best player on the field

Malcolm’s biggest reception this year came off the foot of Auburn’s kicker. A well-executed play.
Print a few milk cartons for Keith Marshall, too.
