Winning a national title in a southern or midwestern state raises raises contribution levels and provides valuable political distraction, regardless of political affiliation. Just look at our neighbors to the west.

I thought Louisiana was about to have to sell Baton Rouge back to France just to keep the lights on. I bet Governor Jindal’s rooting hard against LSU this year!

It wasn’t Baton Rouge that came from the French, it was New Orleans and Jindal is no longer governor.
