So, it’s come to this.
Is the Pope Catholic?
The more interesting debate is which schools will be ready to talk to him after the season ends… and how big a check they’ll be ready to write.

Would an SEC team take a chance on Bobby Petrino again? #CFBSunday pic.twitter.com/78U4xRQfZq

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Auburn and the Bag Man are holding on line one..

Yep, Auburn.

Nailed it. Papa John’s is going to need to come up with $10M a year to keep him around.

Well, perhaps, but the season is young yet and LVille has gymnastics coaches too I’d bet. Anything is on the table in PetrinoWorld.

Trigga Trey can’t wait for Bobby to show up on the plains.

Can you say, Kentucky? I knew you could! (Not that he would go there….just sayin)

I think he’s shown he’ll go anywhere, at any time, if the price (and the booty) is right.

Now that made me laugh. Gonna be a bidding war tween Auburn, LSU and Ole Miss ( if the SHYF). Is he a Jimmy Sexton client, cause Sexton can make hay with this?

With its current obsession about Alabama and especially Nick Saban, can you spell LSU?

Auburn never fell out of love with him. He’s who they’ve wanted for literally 15 years.

Auburn and Petrino deserve each other.

If so, the first assistant coach to break the two million mark could be Todd Grantham. That will buy a lot of towels.

He’d end up back on that plane back to Auburn so fast, and the circle would be complete.

LSU.
LSU.
LSU.
Auburn, too, but that was obvious.

If Mrs P. Can give him a second chance why not the SEC?

I hope the hell he does not go to AU. Gus is doing a great job, keep him another 10 years.

This is what I’m thinking. If he could beat us with Arkansas… Not really interested in having him on the schedule every year.

If UL wins a natty..which is possible, they look very good, then they will pay up hugely to keep him. He probably already has a full hen house there and wouldn’t want to re-build anyway. However, there will be a bidding war.

Isn’t Papa John’s tied to Louisville somehow? Just one more reason to go to Your Pie, or something.

Another rhetorical question: Who’s more despicable? Petrino or Corch?

Not even close, HB…Petrino has a couple unfortunate personal relationship habits and rides motorcycles…and mixes the habits…not really all that bad.
Meyer, on the other hand…

Corch. Not even close.

I was among those who thought after yesterday that Auburn would come calling at the end of the season. This morning though I realized that circumstances have changed from last time. Louisville has a direct path to the playoffs now in the ACC, and that path is easier than the SEC. Petrino would be an idiot to leave UL now. And he may be a lot of things, but he’s not an idiot (ill-considered motorcycle companions notwithstanding).

This is my thought too. At this point, L’ville is a pretty good job. It’s certainly lightyears ahead of where it was when he left for Atlanta.

I gotta believe Petrino would want to coach in the best conference possible. Championship paths are easier at other schools but Bobby believes
he is top tier and would want to win from the top tier.
‘course, I could be wrong…

I was thinking Kiffin for LSU because they still have a $12+MM buyout for Les and Junior can be had cheaper than Hermann or Petrino.

I thought Bobby Petrino promised that he would never leave Louisville as a condition of being offered the job. He owes the Louisville AD big time!

Actually, Ole Miss is a likely candidate after the NCAA puts them on probation and slaps a cease and desist on Freeze.
