Some ear candy for you — heard this one on the radio Friday night and haven’t been able to get it out of my head all weekend. From 1967, it’s The Tremeloes, with the Cat Stevens-penned “Here Comes My Baby”.
Tell me something: have you ever heard a more cheerful tune about unrequited love?
The lead guitarist has his Neil Young look going on with leather jacket and sideburns.
Since my sons have purloined my best equiptment and album collect I’ve decided to start again. I test drove a pair of Tritrix MTM with Dayton Classic drivers that I’ve been putting together and fired this jewel up. Talk about lost love! I can’t get it out if my mind either.
I cheated a little with a kit from Parts Express. I’ll probably cheat again with the subwoofer kit. But I’m putting the veneer on. 😉

Norah Jones is magician with arranging songs. I saw “Your Cheating Heart” on an album and wondered how she had stolen that title of the Hank Williams song, never thinking she would have used the original lyrics. So I listened and was pretty stunned. Loved country music since the 70s but never a fan of the honky tonk period of my youth. Her version is now on two of my playlists for easy listening and cocktail time while Hank’s doesn’t even make my classic country list. Give it a try, surprising effort, and a keeper.

You have good taste in music, Senator. When I’m going for a run and I want to pick up the pace, I blast “Here Comes My Baby” through the headphones. Never fails to get the old, tired legs moving.
