You may have thought that North Carolina, being in the South and the ACC, would be a place where football and basketball were placed about all other sporting events, but according to one of its leading politicians, such is not the case.
HB2 supporters say its costs have been tiny compared with an economy estimated at more than $500 billion a year, roughly the size of Sweden’s. They say they’re willing to absorb those costs if the law prevents sexual predators posing as transgender people from entering private spaces to molest women and girls — acts the law’s detractors say are imagined.
Lt. Gov. Dan Forest, one of the strongest supporters, accused news organizations of creating a false picture of economic upheaval. A global equestrian competition that’s coming to North Carolina in 2018 despite HB2 is projected to have an economic impact bigger than the sporting events that have canceled, Forest said. The Swiss-based group behind the event estimated its spending poured about $250 million into the French region of Normandy the last time it was held — 2014. The organization said the figure came from a study by consulting and accounting firm Deloitte, but the Federation Equestre Internationale declined to release the report. [Emphasis added.]
Take that, NCAA and ACC, if you dare. No doubt an unpublished report is about as authoritative as it gets these days.
The reason for this is simple.
Under federal, state, and local regulations, horses can still poop and pee anywhere they damn well please.

It is because we say it is – we don’t need no stinkin’ report. Just wait until the trannies overrun UGA, then you will see what we have been telling you about those people who have a pee-pee and want to get into a frenzy every time they approach a bathroom. Dangerous, I’m tellin’ you, dangerous. And the FBI is surveillin’ them with microwaves that detect whether they sit down or stand up to pee.
A UGA PhD friend located in the mountains of NC near Georgia is having apoplexy with this happening in what used to be an upbeat state with bright people in it. Dancing at Jimmy Carter inaugural celebrations sounds like a long way from where he and many others have traveled since then. God bless America – please.

The Golden Triangle must have a touch of tarnish that shows a lot of brass from the politicians at work. I feel pity for the dumb people who require this sort of thing from an elected official who represents everyone – supposedly.

The Research Triangle is in North Carolina, not the Golden Triangle.

I’m surprised Cojones confused the two. 😉
The Golden Triangle (Burmese: ရွှေတြိဂံ နယ်မြေ, IPA: [ʃwè tɹḭɡàɴ nɛ̀mjè]; Thai: สามเหลี่ยมทองคำ, IPA: [sǎːm.lìəm.tʰɔːŋ.kʰam]; Lao: ສາມຫຼ່ຽມທອງຄຳ; Vietnamese: Tam giác Vàng) is one of Asia’s two main opium-producing areas. It is an area of around 950,000 square kilometres (367,000 sq mi) that overlaps the mountains of three countries of Southeast Asia: Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.

On the Golden Triangle thing, Greensboro/High-Point/Winston-Salem used to be called the Golden Triangle. In the early 70’s the powers that be thought Piedmont Triad was more hip and with it.

It’s a good thing they did. Because when I think of hip, the first place that comes to mind is Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem.
Columbus, Starkville, and West Point Mississippi also use the Golden Triangle moniker. It may be due to the amount of gold teeth found in the area.

An earlier report published in April 2011 by the Williams Institute estimated that 3.8 percent of Americans identified as gay/lesbian, bisexual, or transgender: 1.7 percent as lesbian or gay, 1.8 percent as bisexual, and 0.3 percent as transgender.

The report “estimated” the numbers, that’s certainly an institute I’m going to take seriously. 0.3 percent is an absurd number, I don’t think there is any way 3 out of every 1000 people is transgender. The Williams Institute is dedicated to transgender and homosexual issues. It is very much in their best interest to overestimate the number of people who are gay or transsexual.

Someone who danced and celebrated Carter’s election had bad foresight for a person who became a UGA PhD. Hopefully he has become wiser over the years, but it doesn’t seem so. For his information, the state of NC is an upbeat state with many wise people; they have just been inundated with too many hysterical PC nutcases who think men and women should use the same dressing areas at schools, workout gyms, etc. We should all embrace the logic of the confused to accommodate the estimated .005% who can’t figure things out? Yeah, that would be very bright. Flea wagging a 747, imo.
Not surprised the “regressives” would latch onto that, anything to disrupt any thing that is working well. Viva Soros and the flakes!

Who is proposing unisex dressing areas? Who? Where? WTF does that proposal, should it even exist, have to do with a dude with his johnson chopped off, wearing a dress and a wig and needing to pee?
I know you prefer that tranny come in with you and you have your own personal reasons for that, but the reasons for not noticing a gap between:
1) a legal requirement your birth certificate match your choice of public bathrooms and
2) the fear that somehow repeal of HB2 is tied to an insistence that all sexes share showers can only be attributed to abject stupidity.
Its the same sort of stupid logic that insists that a ban on teacher led prayer in school means that a kid can’t have a moment with his maker prior to the History exam. Or perhaps I should say the leftist conspiracy to deny the kid the opportunity to commune with God prior to his History exam.
If you even wonder why there is an audience for:
pizza restaurant is a front for Hillary’s child sex ring
flat earth
there is no Australia
you can have universal heath care at a fraction of the cost
mexico will pay for the wall
biggest inauguration evah
Sweden = hellscape
Putin = Great leader
I know more than the generals, believe me
3 million illegals voted
obama wiretapped my phones, but I really meant hid in my toaster and watched me
its because a bare minority of the people really are painfully gullible.
I can think of no greater threat to democracy than establishing as a fact that people are too dumb for self-governance. With that you get to what Putin is really up to: undermining the legitimacy of democracy.

Not the same Senator. Most people are complaining about men in the women’s room. Charlotte should have never passed their law and the state wouldn’t have had to intervene. Bathrooms for each gender have worked fine for generations. No need to improve upon it, other than providing more bathrooms for the ladies.

And here I thought the “conservatives” liked “local control.” BTW: the charlotte city council offered to repeal the offending ordinance if HB2 were repealed by the NC legislature. The state wouldn’t and didn’t.
