Say what you will about Jim Harbaugh, the man is a master at salesmanship.  Check out the header to this ESPN puff piece.

Just make sure they visit Michigan in February. Michigan would quickly lose luster.

that’s just great…Sir Nick of Tuscaloosa is already a major PITA and now Harbaugh is emboldened by his recent success in Georgia…just when it can’t get worse, it does…however, when the Buckeyes own you, desperation sets in…

good luck recruits as the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in Michigan…I suppose ‘Hail to the Victors’ is just too seductive… 😉

That championship trophy he won in the Pioneer League must really bring them in.

The only big W he’s gotten at Michigan is the one on his Wolverines sweatshirt. But ESPN loves him so we all have to act like he’s won something meaningful.

So this creates some divided loyalties on my part. On the one hand, UGA is my team in the SEC and has been for about two decades. On the other hand, if UGA fails and Kirby moves onto the hot seat, then my alma mater will recruit better in Georgia. Such a touch choice.

By the way, Jim sounds like an actual smart guy in this interview in Politico. Dunno how many coaches can speak intelligently on LSC and local governments killing poor people with fines, but at least there’s one.

    • Honestly, this is such a small sample size, it hardly justifies the breathless header, not to mention that Georgia cleaned up in state with this last signing class.

Besides, when you get down to it, if Kirby has to lose a highly rated in state recruit, better to Michigan than Alabama. 😉

yeah the whole he landed a recruit from Georgia, or a couple of guys are taking visits doesnt really put michigan on the list for top worries for Smart and staff, I wouldnt think.

They literally haven’t gotten a recruit from GA to commit that didn’t go Lee County High School and Clemson just won a NC and has a committment from the #1 player in the country out of Cartersville…but sure, Big 10 ESPN guy, Harbaugh is the biggest rival in Georgia.

        • To be fair, we would have had a way better shot at the Cartersville kid Lawrence if we didn’t have Eason and then tack on Fromm this year – Can’t really blame the kid for seeking more open pastures, even if he wanted to stay home.

Clemson’s depth chart is no slouch either. But I get your point.

The bigger issue is how if we had no shot because of the depth chart, how did Georgia’s biggest recruiting rival not swoop in and take him up north? #eyeroll

I get why they are here recruiting. All the FBS schools in Georgia can’t sign the available players. Are there 4 such schools? I think the 2016 number of FBS signees was 210.
