Before you get too excited about information like this,

consider this.

There is no other team in the country with depth like Alabama’s.

Can say that too much longer. We’re close.

  2. Glad you posted something on this.

Seems like from the last practice report I read a starting offensive lineman was out as well. Also, Minkah and a couple others sitting out some drills but I’m sure they will go.

Meanwhile, has anyone been able to find a practice report for Ga since the Rose Bowl? I have not.

  3. Anyone heard anything about academic issues. I think classes started yesterday so I guess no news is good news.

With Smart’s management of team news, I don’t expect to hear any negative news until game time, as it should be.

While I have reservations myself about the game, there is definitely a difference between production and potential. In a game where we appear to be an underdog, I don’t see where this type of development can hurt. Although I’m not rooting for injuries. I prefer to play them at full strength.

I have no doubt that they are great players, but if they have not been practicing with the ones, it has to be a little bit of a help.

It would be great to beat them at their full strength, but best of all is to beat them however we can. Yes, don’t get too excited is a prudent thought, but I’ll take it anyway and hope for the best.

There is a reason he was starting. The next player up has to be somewhat of a problem for them, if for no other reason than being less experienced.
Alabama fans (the ones I know) have blamed the loss to Auburn on injuries. (That might just be injured pride talking. Mostly it is).
Georgia may be deep at linebacker..but we couldn’t lose Roquan and not expect it to impact the game. Kind of the same thing.
I think these injuries hurt Alabama, just not as much as they would other teams.
I keep looking for Mecole’s big, big impact. Just having him back there has probably caused some short punts,as the punter feels pressure. And he might be a factor catching a pass or two…when he catches it, it’s trouble for the defense. And Mr. Swift will show up late and well rested in the fourth quarter.

I hope Mr. Swift learned to run north south since the Rose Bowl. Sometimes ya just gotta quit dancing .

Yes, that first down run looked very promising…until it didn’t. I realize that is an effective style for him, but there is a time to move forward at great speed, stick your nose in there and get that needed, 1, 2, or 3 yards and keep the chains moving.

Alabama’s ability to keep rolling people in and out is what worries me. I think our ones match up to their ones pretty favorably. But their twos and threes are every bit as good. We haven’t yet developed that sort of depth. We’re way ahead of where we were but no one has a roster like theirs. Bama’s capacity to simply wear us down scares me.

They can only play them one at the time and their best player will always be on the field at each position. Backups should be viewed as not as good as the starting player and with no extra athletic plaudits attached.

They all put on their pants the same way we do.

I understand that. It didn’t stop me from buying two very large bottles of Tums at Wally World today. It’s the Munson in me.

One issue is who starts. Another issue is who is around to sub for the new starter. These things are not without consequence.

Ed Zachery. That’s one less level at each of those positions. Those guys will get tired and need a breather and eventually, they run out of 5 stars and have to resort to the lowly 4 star.

I think with their injuries, our depth is getting close to theirs.

Speaking of injuries, have we ever had a year like this with virtually no injuries? Schedule, seniors returning, no injuries, we finally had things fall in place.g

Just been incredible, I don’t recall a season like it this century, not even close. 2017 has been the complete opposite of 2013 for UGA injuries. Now, just won more game like that (especially for the Seniors who returned!)
