Nick Saban is a practical man.

You gotta love this — throwing a punch at a Georgia player wasn’t enough to get Mekhi Brown tossed from the national title game (or to prevent Saban from putting him back in the game at a later point)…

… but it seems it was enough to send him packing from Tuscaloosa.  (And, yes, I see the note about Brown being admitted to TSU before the game.)  Priorities, bitchez!

Of note, when he went to the sideline, he had to be restrained from fighting either another player or a coach.

Funniest part of ALL this is that coaching staggering that dumbass with an instant left hook. Grown-ass man and all that.

I just hope he got the “due process” Saban fretted over Jonathan Taylor supposedly not getting.

Probably saved himself from getting medically disqualified during the off season.

Saban: “We need to toss this nutjob that went after the special teams coach during the championship game and make it look like it was his decision. I need to to know what I’ve got to work with here. Somebody Google “player punches coach”.”

Nameless staffer: “Here you go coach.”

Saban: “Make it so, Number One.”

Interesting how in the article it said he received a personal foul penalty. I don’t recall that happening.

Can’t believe an FCS program stole this guy right out from under Auburn’s nose. Look alive, Gus.

I can’t believe Saban would let a guy who was clearly a shit head stay on the team just to win a game. Guess it must have been an oversight on his part. I’m sure he didn’t know the prick had already transferred, and I’m sure he wasn’t made aware of the punch directed at the assistant coach until after the game or he would have immediately sent him packing. Saban should pay better attention to details.

Giving Saban the benefit of the doubt here, but watching a post game interview, he was questioned about the idiot and it didn’t seem he was aware of the issues on the sidelines. Some folks questioned that but I can see how being involved in a game if that magnitude you might miss stuff going on behind you. I’m not sure any coach would have put up with those antics. He should have been sent straight to the locker room by somebody. Escorted by law enforcement if needed. No excuse for that behavior.

I’d also add this isn’t the first problem child out of that high school, I believe we had an issue with recruit from that same system. I believe he stole from our locker room while on a visit.

I memory serves me correctly, we had the #1 running back in the country out of the same school system. He had an issue with weed and guns with the serial numbers filed off of it. There might a something of a pattern there. Just saying.

You know our rb coach was the head coach at that high school you are complaining about, right? 2005-2013.

One gun is not correctly referred to as “guns.” He drove his cousin’s car. There was a gun under the drivers seat. The Athens-Clarke County D. A. Dismissed the charge because there was no proof it was Crowell’s gun.

Defend Crowell if you want to, that whole situation was nothing more than his personality on display. The picture of the cop getting his throat slit that he posted falls into the same category.

I agree 1smart, he seemed genuinely unaware of what happened on the sideline. I am surprised one of the other coaches didn’t usher him to the locker room. I don’t believe Saban would have ignored that our burst for a ST playing.

Does anyone here really think Saban didn’t know this guy went after a coach on the sideline?

Heck no. Lord Saban knows what blood type these guys have. NO WAY he didn’t know, although he apparently played dumb in his postgame presser. Winning is the only thing that matters to him.

The Force is great with Lord Saban. I’m surprised he did not use it to choke the player on the spot.
