Today, in bulletin board material

Shocking, I know, but Auburn dude tells PAWWWLLL that Georgia ain’t gonna be all that in 2019.

Pay no attention to all those stacked recruiting classes, dog.

Would like to hear his rationale. This dude seems to be another fanboy journalist.

  2. He’s a joke… Might want to worry about his Tigers. Replacing their QB, do not have running game, mediocre O-line, front 7 on defense is decimated. Tigers will finish behind Alabama, A*M, LSU and might get passed by one of the bottom feeders.

Yep. Gotta say I was really surprised Derek Brown elected to return. He’s gotta be first round material. Other than Brown, awbie looks like a big rebuilding job.

Look who he writes for. He’s an Auburn homer trying to get a rise from anyone. Complete delusional idiot.

    • He’s an Arkansas graduate who’s covering his third SEC school, so… doubtful. Would love to hear his rationale but I don’t think it’s based on allegiances.

If there is any coach with a gun to their head this season to win it all, it’s Gus. He better hope he wins the NC with no QB, RB, or Oline.

THE NIX KID WILL BE AUBURN’S NEXT HEISMAN QB, PAWWWWWWWWWL. JUST LIKE STIDHAM, JEREMY JOHNSON, CHRIS TODD….. GYS US AN OFFENSIVE GENIUS!

Uh. Sure thing, dude. UGA has only insurmountable losses, AU has only better players to plug in for the folks who are gone. We probably will just forfeit. Maybe he’s counting on our annual wet the bed SEC West road lossto save them.

  8. I really do hope everyone thinks we’re decimated and headed for a fall after early entries, the Fields transfer and the Sugar Bowl egg laying. We’re going to lay the wood to some people this fall.

This team is stacked with talent.

I agree, EE. My only worry is keeping Fromm healthy. That scares me. We have enough depth everywhere else to handle the normal attrition of a season.

      • You always worry about losing your starting QB. We believed Fromm could replace Eason, but we really didn’t know.

Plus, the only other QB we had with playing time (Matthew Downing) is leaving for TCU. The Beast better unleash himself. I really want Mathis to bulk up/improve this year. One or both of them will need to be ready to play.

Maybe it’s Stetson Bennett’s time to shine. He now has time on the firing line under his belt. The fact that he came back to me is a plus.

Didn’t Stetson Bennett start all year in ’18. He’s got far, far more playing time than Downing’s few minutes of mop-up duty.

Auburns next big project is to build a lake. The only difference between them and Clemson is Clemson has a lake (excuse me and a national champion) other than that they are both really boring places!!!!

Interesting considering last year was our down year and we return more talent this year on both sides of the ball. Auburn jealousy.

I’m glad you brought that up. With the graduation of Sony and Chubb plus the others and the early departure of Quan last season was really a rebuilding year. I realize we lost some guys after this past season too but hey it’s CFB, guys graduate or leave. You’ll never have a year where 100% of everybody returns. But it certainly does appear that an awful lot of capable guys are returning and the replacements for the grads etc. at Georgia are pretty damn good.

I wouldn’t throw his assessment out the window. Recruiting classes don’t mean much until they prove it on the field.

    • While true, the offense is practically plug and play. The defense has a ton of speed, and Kirby has won 11 regular season games in back-to-back seasons, this year with a rebuilt front 7 on defense. I trust he’ll figure out how to use all those studs to make a workable defense next season.

We do have issues at the skilled positions as far as proven production.

11, 7 and 9 are our best returning skill guys and they just all played really bad in their last outing.

We’re going to need production out of people we haven’t even laid eyes on if we’re going to be legit.

16, Zeus, Kearis, those 2 giant wrs that never saw the field last year, etc…

We’re also pretty thin at TE which puts more on an unproven wr corp.

I’m not necessarily worried about it, but I can see why someone might be wondering where the points are coming from.

Thin at TE is my only offensive concern at this point, hope we find a transfer at that position in case we ever decide to use them more than every 3rd or 4th game.

Zeus’ recovery is the X Factor to me, but we aren’t exactly weak there with Swift, Herrien, Cook, and McIntosh on board even before we even know about how far along White will be by September. My guess is he will be available but not back to his prior level until later in the season or 2020.

Offense will be a strength again, concerns should have saved for the other side of the ball, imo.

Herrien isn’t a second team back on a championship team, period. He’d really have to up his game over the next 8 months to get there. The will is there but the size and talent just aren’t. Counting on a less thought of freshman than Zeus concerns me. Cook may end up being great, but we need someone who can get tough yards.

My supposition is that Zeus kept Sanders from coming to Athens. At least I hope so. We’re going to need him.

Other than 9, who among the wr corp has caught a pass at UGA? We’ll need to go 7 or 8 deep.

“Beatable”? Sure we’re beatable. Everyone is.

When Auburn is nervously talking among themselves about whether you’re “beatable”, it’s time to start selling ad space inside their heads.

Most of these guys writing for these recruiting sites are just bro fanboy wannabe tools. The few actual journalists that come through are snatched up pretty quickly by bigger outlets. Most are some combination of fansite developer that got acquired/ recruitnik/ one-time high school assistant coach/ hangers-on. Some guys just start out as students with a twitter stealing “insider info” from behind a paywall and faking it as their own, then working their way onto the staff at one of these recruiting sites. Of course, every fanbase thinks the guys writing for their home site are legit, and all others are homer phonies.
