Does it frustrate anyone else to see Kirby settle for a field goal in a meaningless bowl game…on fourth and short on the five? He wants his team to play lights out then he should have gone for the TD.
Why in the world wouldn’t you call a TO…challange your line and make a f’ing statement? His statement is, “I don’t think you can block for one yard”. No wonder this offense is in the doldrums.
That’s exactly what CMR did the year we lost to UCF. Kicked a FG with fourth and one the first trip in the redzone.
Take the easy three and leave four on the field…OK in a close conference game or a playoff game..but a f’ing bowl game with a decimated roster? Shit.

Read the post. I said to that point which was accurate. Even after that point, as Blackledge pointed out on the two point conversion he is not making consistent good reads or snap decisions. Now, I think Jake Fromm is key to our chance for success next year and I hope these weaknesses help him decide to come back. He is eons better than anything we have, yet based on what we have seen in the last 5 games, he is not having a “pro ready” year. Just trying to be objective. It’s a long time to September and Pickens rumored issues could foul it all up too. Also, where do you think Baylor would rate in our conference? I would venture there are at least 5 a lot better and 2 or 3 more equal. Still I am very happy with our performance and willingness to abandon man ball to some degree after the 2 early offensive sets. Our D will be formidable against all except the very best O’s. Let’s close the deal.

To you negatrons who have bashed the program since the Vandy game, I hope you can find it in yourself to make it a point to appreciate a 12-win season and a likely #4 end of year ranking. For you people who bashed Jake Fromm since the South Carolina game, you saw a QB that played his @$$ off tonight. Give him credit … he played a damn good game.

Good win. Good job by coaches and players. But “best coaching job in his 4 years.” Um……. Rose Bowl? 2017 SEC title game? Or for that matter, most of the 2017 season?
1) We scored an anemic 7 points in the second half.
2) We scored only 26 total points when we had a 3-0 turnover margin in our favor AND executed a fake field goal.
That is not a complete game.
Fromm played well but not great and not “damn good.” Relax. Simmer down.
We still have a LONG way to go on offense. Our defense dominated.

A team with 20% of the scholarship players not available? Kirby did a hell of a job for the last 3 weeks getting this team ready. Matt Luke looked like he coached his @$$ off with a makeshift offensive line with 2 guys making their first starts (I think this was Slater’s first start). This team could have mailed it in when all of those players weren’t available. They didn’t because Kirby set the tone in Athens and that carried over to New Orleans.

The negatrons ignore that we beat THREE 11 win teams (Notre Dame, Florida and Baylor) and a 9 win team (Auburn) and three 8 win teams (Arkansas State, Kentucky and Texas A& M) That number of wins against 8 win teams may become four if UT wins its bowl game. That means we would have beaten 8 quality opponents.
