Leach right now at his presser: "I like Lane. I know you're not supposed to like anything from Ole Miss … I like playing against crummy coaches more than I do good coaches."

āWe remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,ā Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. āWeāre not letting Alabama beat us twice. I know heās a character and doesnāt have a filter between his brain and his mouth. He has brought some level of success to college football backwaters like Lubbock and Pullman. I just donāt get why people think heās this great football coach. His teams typically donāt play defense and arenāt physical. Heās going to find out quickly that he isnāt in the same neighborhood anymore.

Well, since weāre not Missisloppy State fans, we can sit back and watch a very entertaining train wreck.

I think heāll be fun to watch, but anyone who thinks Nick Saban and Coach Oeaux are shaking in their boots today are kidding themselves.

People think he’s a pretty good coach because he brought success to CFB backwaters like Buttock and Pullman. He’s not going to win big at Miss St. but he’ll definitely be entertaining, and he’ll pull of an upset every now and then.

I’m disappointed you didn’t have a good nickname for Pullman. Liked “Buttock,” lol, that was good.

Well, we won 12 games and there’s a good bit of angst among some in our fan base because of our anemic offense. Leach teams won’t win big in Starkville, but his offense will be fun to watch in a couple of years.

When Leach took over at Wazzu in 2012, they’d gone 9ā40 over the previous four seasons and had barely sniffed a bowl since 2003. Leach took them to five straight bowls, and two years ago they won 11 games. He ain’t Saban, but he knows what he’s doing. I wouldn’t bet against him putting some real scares into some of the West’s blueblood programs, if not beating them outright.

Mike Price got them to a Rose Bowl in tougher Pac Whatever.
Heās done a very good job in Pullman, and Lubbock has been walking the wastelands since he left. Heās a good football coach.
Who is badly overrated because he is the anti-Belichik when a microphone is in his face.
Jimmy Lake was openly taunting him over how easy he was to game plan for these days.

Leaches record, like the pac 12 is just average…although a change of income will lure many wannebes to the sec, if 500 football is all that miss st is looking for, they hired a coach that just might get them there every other year….i’m no fashion guy, but he did look out of sorts in a suit/tie

If he can just irritate Saban, the now ingenious Cajun Cookie Monster, and Joey Freshwater fairly consistently, heās done his job as far as Iām concerned.

I donāt hate him but something about him does run me the wrong way. It probably has less to do with Orgeron himself and more to do with how heās covered by the cfb press who could make you despise Mother Teresa if you gave them enough time. The whole thing of him deserving it because heās from Louisiana and coaches there and he wanted it so bad blah blah blah.

He looks and sounds just like my Grandfather’s brothers, my Dad and his brother, and my cousins that live way up in the North East corner of Louisiana. Same build and skin tone, except we all have blue eyes. I love the guy. As long as he’s not playing the Dawgs I wish him nothing but the best. YMMV
My Grandfather’s dog when I was growing up was named “Cholly Mac”.

The EGG BOWL will definitely be must watch TV this year no matter how crappy the teams are. The pre and post game press conferences may be the most entertaining part.

They better hire extra security for the Coaches meetings. The Laner had no trouble twiking SOS’s nose so I’m sure he will get on Nick’s last nerve. Mike would never say that in one sentence Dennis Dodd is a hack.

I am sorry really guys but Leach is a character and he did well under Hal at Cantuk, he pissed off Craig James got him to disappear and survived that. Survived Washington State and I know heās had a disregard for defense. Mind you watch the Pirate. He may talk like a fool but itās his act.
Heāll have to get Jimmy Buffet to recruit for him. You know he is a lot better press than Dopey Dan. You really donāt have a high bar to follow if Cousin Eddie is the hero of Starkville.
The Pirate just might surprise you and I. Heck if he gives Saban and Laner a migraine I can pull for him till 2022. By then perhaps our offense will be able to score 30 points.
