You know, this may be my favorite Uncle Verne call in a Georgia game of all time.
“Lingerie on the field” is downright Munson worthy, if you ask me.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I really love Danielson “geeze”. Its like he’s thinking “that wasn’t even fair”!

That TD happened on my end of the field. When Knowshon juked that guy, everyone around me reacted the same way Uncle Verne did. Moreno was shifty and elusive, but he couldn’t come out of that dead leg cut and accelerate like Swift does. Dre puts his foot in the ground and is gone.

Yep, he ran right at me just like Sony in the Rose Bowl! Sometimes endzone seats are great!

I know, watching Swift do that spoils a person. Seeing it here kinda wakes you up to just how great Swift’s moves are.

Knowshon had the funniest cuts to me. They look more like a reset of direction. He gathers his center of gravity and takes off again. Weird but fun to watch. Swift appears to know the cut is coming a step ahead and deliberately moves in a direction he knows he is not going. And when he adds that spin move…thing of beauty really.

Great atmosphere. I actually bruised my palms clapping at that game. I didn’t even know that was possible. Never happened before or since…

They can’t touch Sony, Nick or Gurley for shere talent, but i loved having Knowshon and Thomas Brown in the same backfield. Loved it when Bobo lined them up on either side of Stafford.

Wish I could find that play against UF where Knowshon took a misdirection toss and turned it into a TD. The whole gator team was going one way and Knowshon the other. We don’t seem to use those type of plays as called anymore. If the change of direction is there the RB takes it, but it doesn’t seem planned. Or maybe we’re just good at disguising it.

Dial it up to 1:08:00 for the play I believe you’re looking for:

If you watch the play before (the QB draw), we had a TD on that play as well. The 2 WRs to the top are in single coverage and Moreno leaks out of the backfield that way. If Stafford sees him and flips him the ball, Moreno walks into the endzone.

Danielson mentions that Stafford misread the coverage.

Near the very end of that video, they show a clip of CMR doing the back flip off the high dive.
It was a bad ass dive.

sigh… I really do miss the full back as part of our power run game.

Only UGA would redshirt a talent like that…

We were lucky Sturdivant didn’t get called for a false start on that play. Still, what a game!

That black out game was a top 2 or 3 Sanford Stadium atmosphere I have attended in the 48 seasons I’ve been going . UGA beating Alabama 21-0 (1976) was the only one I would definitely rank higher.

Man I miss the old Verne and I don’t think CBS losing SEC football is a good thing.

I hate the SEC losing CBS as a broadcast partner. There was inherent value having that exclusive relationship. I’m going to miss Brad Nessler.
